Peter Parker used to be the one and only Spider-Man, keeping New York City safe with one punch, kick, and web shot at a time. In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Peter has been Spider-Man for years, and as such, it’s no surprise that he has quite a few abilities over Miles Morales that make his job still hard, but a tad easier thanks to the right and powerful abilities only aided further by the Symbiote black suit.

Spider Shock
Shock Enemies With Slowing Web Lines
- Shock enemies with electrified web lines, leaving them vulnerable to attack.
- Fire with L1+Circle
- How to Get: Unlocks via One Thing At A Time (mission)
Spider-Man’s tech might need a bit of workshopping, as this ability will allow Peter to use his spider tendrils to shock enemies with web lines, but the attack takes fairly longer than any standard punch of web would, which leaves this attack in quite a vulnerable place just for a quick zap.
The attack itself doesn’t really deal much damage and instead relies on shock so that enemies are more vulnerable. There are better options for the L1+Circle move, and while Spider Shock might have its moments, it’s not going to carry players to the endgame.
9
Spider Barrage
A Rapid Flurry of Spider Arm Hits
- Unleash a flurry of Spider Arm attacks that damage a foe.
- Fire with L1+Square
- How to Get: Unlocks via Surface Tension (mission)
As if it wasn’t bad enough to be punched in the face by Spider-Man, or be webbed up, enemies now have to deal with the fact that Spider-Man has four spider arms on his back that can deal out some pretty lethal combos. The Spider Barrage focuses on light attacks, providing fast and quick strikes to a single enemy to brutally give them a pow.
While Spider Barrage certainly looks cool and brutal against one enemy, the fact that it can only focus on one opponent at once and that the attacks have a fast flourish, the damage, and speed take a tad too long when another ability can knock out a group of enemies a tad quicker and stronger.
8
Anti-Venom Tempest
Lift Enemies Into the Air With Symbiote Tendrils
- Unleash a flurry of damaging Symbiote tentacles that lift nearby enemies into the air.
- Fire with L1+X
- How to Get: Unlocks via Set Things Right (mission)
With so many enemies in New York City, it’s inevitable that Spider-Man is going to feel a tad overwhelmed. Luckily, the Anti-Venom Tempest attack will help players out in a pinch, since it will unleash a set of damaging Symbiote tentacles to throw enemies up into the air.

The 7 Best Suits Featured In Spider-Man 2
Insomniac Games has yet to reveal a full list of the available suits in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2; here are the best ones that have been unveiled so far.
Having enemies catch some air time is great for Peter Parker to unleash some powerful punches for some Air Combos, while also using his Web-Shooters to ensure that his enemies are safely webbed up and subdued. It’s decent enough for crowd control for how it can disrupt the flow of ground combat for enemies.

Anti-Venom Strike
Become Symbiote Sludge and Attack Grounded Enemies
- Launch yourself into the air and then pop enemies when landing.
- Fire with L1+Triangle
- How to Get: Unlocks via Good Men (mission)
The Anti-Venom Strike sees Peter submit himself to the Symbiote as it consumes him, allowing him to enter into a gooey cluster of the Symbiote as he jumps into the air before hurling down like a predator, seeking out an enemy to pop into and cause some serious damage to.
The attack itself isn’t all that special, but the window of invulnerability is certainly nice to evade enemies, and it’s also a nice bonus that players can swim through the floor in search of an enemy to latch to and attack once the Anti-Venom Strike has concluded.
6
Spider Whiplash
Lift Enemies, Including Brutes, Into the Air
- Lift enemies up in the air. Can be used on Brute enemies.
- Fire with L1+X
- How to Get: Unlocks via One Thing At A Time (mission)
Using Peter’s spider legs, he can suspend himself to the ground and ferociously kick upwards to send enemies up into the air, opening them up to an Air Combo that will definitely end with them knocked out for the count. While this is only really good for juggling one enemy, it’s made even better thanks to its use on Brute enemies.
Being able to negate the weight and gravity of a Brute enemy by using the Spider Whiplash to launch them upwards is nice, and the initial damage burst is only going to aid players further as they commit to engaging the enemy in the middle of the air.
5
Anti-Venom Punch
A Far-Reaching Symbiote Punch to Knock Enemies Into Walls and Floors
- Unleash a tentacle punch that knocks enemies back and can stick them to walls or floors.
- Fire with L1+Square
- How to Get: Unlocks via Good Men (mission)
While the Anti-Venom Punch can only single out one target, that one target in particular is going to wish they stayed at home instead of fighting Spider-Man, as this ability doubles the punching power of Spidey, and near-triples the reach by providing him with a Symbiote tendril for an arm that can latch to an enemy regardless of distance.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 introduces five cool gadgets players can use to their advantage in combat. Here they are, ranked by utility.
The force of the Anti-Venom Punch will send the targeted enemy back, and if they are close to a wall or a floor, they will also be stuck there and subdued. It’s great for dealing a burst of damage to a chunkier foe, and a lot of fun for sticking smaller enemies to walls to keep them out of the fight.
4
Spider Rush
Tackle Forward, Damaging Enemies in the Whirlwind Path
- Propel yourself forward, damaging enemies along your path.
- Fire with L1+Triangle
- How to Get: Unlocks via One Thing At A Time (mission)
The Spider Rush ability is Peter’s fastest way to get to an enemy before they can cause more damage. With this attack ability, Peter uses the spider arms to propel himself forward, and anyone caught in the trajectory of his path will receive some pretty nasty damage, all so Peter can reach his end target and annihilate them with a few punches.
The Spider Rush ability isn’t renowned for its damage capabilities, but what it is renowned for is in its potential for escape. It’s fast, allowing players to get from one enemy to another with little risk of being attacked while doing so, and provides a window of invulnerability to get to an enemy that needs a beatdown.
3
Anti-Venom Blast
Symbiote Spikes Attack Enemies in Every Direction
- Launch Symbiote spikes in all directions to damage and push back enemies.
- Fire with L1+Circle
- How to Get: Unlocks via The Flames Have Been Lit (mission)
The Anti-Venom Blast attack doesn’t exactly tickle enemies with its sharp tendrils that burst from Peter’s suit, instead, they will devastate the area with a few doses of justice. The Ant-Venom Blast will hurt foes with how spikes from all directions will hit them, causing enough damage and force to knock them back into the ground and surrounding walls.
If Peter is even in a pickle and needs some backup or even just some breathing room in the middle of a fight, the Anti-Venom Blast will do its job to knock enemies back and keep them subdued somewhat while Peter tries to catch his breath and prepare for another attack.
2
Anti-Venom Yank
Grab Enemies With Symbiote Tendrils and Pull Them Inward
- Grab multiple enemies and pull them towards you.
- Fire with L1+X
- How to Get: Unlocks via The Flames Have Been Lit (mission)
Is there anything more than an enemy that’s just way too agile for their own good? If the answer is no, then try out Anti-Venom Yank, which will see Peter use the Symbiote to grab at multiple enemies at once with long tendrils to yank them towards him and throw them to the ground with a rageful burst of power.
The Anti-Venom Yank is great for subduing enemies by pulling them to the ground, and also great for grabbing enemies a bit further away than a standard web or fist can’t reach, as this attack will bring said enemies towards Peter so that they can feel the power of Spider-Man.
1
Anti-Venom Bomb
A Lethal Symbiote Bomb to Cause Mass Splash Damage
- Throw a volatile Symbiote projectile that explodes on contact, damaging all enemies caught in the blast.
- Fire with L1+Square
- How to Get: Unlocks via Set Things Right (mission)
Peter can practice his aim with a lethal Anti-Venom Bomb, which sees him build a cluster of the Symbiote to hurl at the ground with immense force for a powerful explosion. The Anti-Venom Bomb might not be deadly, but it certainly is powerful, and against bosses and standard enemies, it’s going to hurt them quite a bit.
The blast zone is rather large, providing a great attack for a cluster of enemies that need something with an area of effect to keep them down. The damage is nice, and the attack itself is cool with how Peter throws it from the air, so try to keep this one in the loadout for use against stronger or overwhelming foes.
