Some of them, like Horsemanship and Houndsman, can be leveled up quickly, but the likes of Scholarship and Marksmanship can take a while. As such, we’ve gone ahead and detailed how to level the most difficult skills quickly below.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 has a complicated skill system with dozens of perks, so if you want to see all the perks in one convenient place, you should definitely head on over to our best Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 perks, where we also detail which are the best to select upon leveling up skills.

How to level Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Strength

Strength is perhaps the most important skill in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, as it affects all melee weapon types, but it levels slowly.

Here are the best ways to level Strength fast:

  • Complete the Melee at the Mill, More Melee at the Mill, and Wine, Woman and Blood tasks
  • Practice fighting with any number of trainers
  • Obtain the Leg Day perk
  • Carry sacks or bodies

The Melee at the Mill and More Melee at the Mill tasks are obtained from the Miller Krezyl who you meet as part of the Wedding Crashers main quest. These are unarmed fights that increase said skill along with your Strength. After completing them, Krezyl front groschen for you to join the unarmed brawls in Zhelejov.

You can train and practice fighting with various skill trainers found throughout the game; on our way to get our horse back, we met Captain Gnarly in Semine and trained with him, a great way to increase your Strength as if you’re in a real battle.

The Leg Day perk is obtainable when your Survival skill reaches level 10, and it rewards a very small amount of experience for picking herbs. It’s quite easy to pick tons of herbs to level Strength up from its base level of 6; however, we don’t recommend this route for higher levels.

Finally, any time you’re carrying a sack or a body your Strength slowly increases. If you don’t mind wasting some time, consider carrying sacks around (like those you help the Miller Krezyl with) for 10 to 20 real-world minutes.

How to level Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Speech

For those who prefer to talk their way out of trouble rather than fight, it can be tough to reach a high enough Speech level for this playstyle to work.

Here are the best ways to level Speech fast:

  • Haggle while trading
  • Purchase skill books from the scribe in Troskowitz and Trosky Castle
  • Pass as many Speech checks as you can

Most importantly, every time you’re buying or selling items no matter the type of vendor, you should haggle the price. This grants a non-insignificant amount of Speech experience, and you can ‘farm’ by haggling items one at a time rather than selling or buying multiple at once. Just make sure not to annoy the trader enough that they stop trading with you.

While you could spend groschen at skill trainers to level Speech, you likely do not have a lot of it to spend early in the game. Instead, save your groschen to purchase skill books from the scribes in both Troskowitz and Trosky Castle, or outright steal them, as they level both your Speech and the skill you’re reading about. These are expensive, at about 150 groschen each, but if you collect and sell loot from bandits you should be able to afford a few.

Speech also levels fairly quickly if you’re trying your hand at skill checks during dialogue; often, you may want to jump right into fighting, but even if you plan to attack the person you’re speaking with, try to roll the Speech check anyway for the applicable experience.

How to level Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Scholarship

Scholarship doesn’t level passively often; it takes quite a lot of effort to reach higher levels and achieve the amazing perks like Liberal Arts and Explorer.

Here are the best ways to level Scholarship:

  • Save your groschen for skill books and Scholarship training
  • Read every book you find
  • Explore the world thoroughly

Much like with Speech, you want to buy as many skill books as you can; these are worth more than slightly better armor or a new sword. You can obtain them from the scribes in Troskowitz (Scribe Gaibl) or Trosky Castle (Scribe Erazim); however, while we don’t recommend paying skill trainers, it’s not a terrible idea to get Scholarship training from said scribes or priests found throughout the world.

While skill books directly increase specific skills (along with Speech and Scholarship), some are simply for lore purposes and can increase Scholarship as well. Finally, when you explore the world thoroughly and complete tasks, you learn about 15th century European customs. Doing so unlocks some interesting facts in the codex but more importantly increases your Scholarship skill.

Once it’s high enough, you can unlock the Liberal Arts perk to view skill check difficulty and the Explorer perk to completely reveal the map.

How to level Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Thievery

Unless you’re dedicated to opening every locked door and picking every pocket in the game, you’ll likely find your Thievery skill lags behind most others.

Here are the best ways to level Thievery:

  • Work with the Miller Kreyzl
  • Pickpocket sleeping bandits
  • Unlock doors of applicable skill level in villages

During the Wedding Crashers main quest, you’re able to work for Miller Krezyl – who turns out to be running a sort of thieves guild. He has a chest that you can repeatedly lockpick in order to level up your skill; however, this can take some time and leads to little reward. Instead, complete his quests to obtain some Thievery skill books.

After that, if you approach bandit camps at night most of them will be asleep, and you can pickpocket them without causing trouble with the law. If they wake up, you can either reload an old save (made with Savior Schnapps or Save & Quit), or you can simply fight and kill them. Bandit leaders tend to have good loot on them like rosaries and rings.

Finally, in certain villages like Troskowitz you can sneak about unlocking doors that guards aren’t standing near. Not only does sneaking about raise your Stealth, doing so also raises your Thievery – and if you’re dishonest, you can loot a small fortune worth of goods.
