There are nearly endless possibilities when it comes to killing Nazis in Sniper Elite: Resistance. You can use a sniper rifle from a huge distance, a fully-automatic close range weapon, a pistol, or different melee options if you’re looking to keep it extremely close range.

It’s like having x-ray vision.

You can go in loud, or you can go in quiet; doing the latter is going to net you quite a few Ghost Kills. Those Ghost Kills net you extra points for a kill, which will gain you a higher score at the end of a mission, and they’ll go towards eventually gaining the Le Fantome Trophy/Achievement.

How To Perform A Ghost Kill

Gaining experience for getting a Ghost Kill in Sniper Elite Resistance.

Gaining a Ghost Kill is a fairly straightforward task, but it can also be much more difficult than it sounds to do consistently.

Scoring a Ghost Kill means you killed an enemy that was not aware of your presence, and that no other enemy was aware of your presence, either. It’s very easy to do this once, but ensuring that no one knows that you killed an enemy requires a few different things.

How To Stay Quiet

You’ll need to ensure that your kill was not heard by anyone. When it comes to melee kills, this is easy. But firearms have a certain radius inside which enemies can hear your gunshot, which can make lining up multiple firearm kills difficult.

The radius that enemies can hear a gunshot is displayed for each individual weapon. You can see this in the loadout screen when selecting your weapon under the ‘Audible Range‘ section, as well as when customizing a weapon. You can equip a suppressor in the ‘Muzzle‘ section of weapon customization, and ammotypes like ‘Subsonic significantly reduce the audible range.

The Welrod pistol has an extremely low audible range, making it a perfect option for quiet firearm kills.

Why Ghost Kills Are Important

An unaware Nazi scientist takes a bullet to the back in Sniper Elite Resistance.

Ghost Kills can go a long way in keeping you safe, while slowly and consistently whittling down the Nazi forces. Gaining a Ghost Kill means the only way an enemy is going to discover your presence is by discovering the lifeless Nazi, but that isn’t going to give them any inkling about where you are.

The Le Fantome Trophy/Achievement requires gaining 250 Ghost Kills. This is likely going to require many missions to complete, as at some point in every mission, it’s likely a firefight is going to ensue.

In Sniper Elite: Resistance, there are a ton of different locations where you can snipe with near impunity, on every map. In general, look for high ground, especially any high ground that’s far enough away from enemies that they aren’t going to hear you shoot.

Make note of every enemy you can see from that location. Ensure you know what enemies are near enough to each other that they’ll see one of them drop dead. Memorize their patrol routes. More often than not, you can take out over half of the enemies in a particular location from a vantage point very far away, without anyone being the wiser for it.
