If you’ve started playing Hello Kitty Island Adventure and are wondering why you haven’t been able to get your own home, it’s because it takes almost an hour of gameplay time. You might’ve thought it would be faster, but you’ll need to get through some main story quests before My Melody grants you access to a Shack.

What Do You Think Of Hello Kitty Island Adventure?
I’ll be honest, as a big WoW fan and someone who’s watched the Make Love, Not Warcraft episode of South Park more times than I can count, I only wanted to play Hello Kitty Island Adventure for the meme, and still can’t believe it’s a real game. I was expecting a really simple kiddy game that would feel like a mobile port (it was originally on iOS a few years back).
But if I’m being even more honest, I’m having a lot of fun with it – it’s much more than just a kawaii Animal Crossing with different characters, it’s its own unique thing that blends together a bunch of genres to create something wholly its own. Plus, it’s the perfect Steam Deck game for lazy nights on the couch.
How to Get a House in Hello Kitty Island Adventure
To get a Shack in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, keep progressing in the story until Pochacco (Seaside Resort) gives you a Camera to snap a photo of a Gudetama. Speak to him again near the Gudetama sign to learn more. Once that’s done, you’ll get a request to speak to My Melody at the Small Gift, Big Smile shop. This kicks off the ‘Make Yourself at Home‘ quest.
Follow My Melody over to the Cabin on the docks to visit your lovely new Seaside Resort. Not too shabby.
You’ll need to find three Strawberry Crates and then interact with the sign to the right of the Shack before you can claim it as yours. You should have collected plenty by now. They’re scattered all over the islands.
How to Get a Bed in Hello Kitty Island Adventure
Once you’re inside your home, you might quickly realize that you don’t start the game with a bed. You’ll need a bed if you want to make the time pass by (and to rest after a long day’s work) in Hello Kitty Island Adventure.
Well, to get a bed in Hello Kitty Island Adventure (at least in the early game), you can head to My Melody’s shop in the square. The inventory might change over time, but in our game, we had access to a Kawaii Bed for 30 Sand Dollars and 3 Rubber, and an Antique Bed for 30 Sand Dollars and 3 Sticks.
The dollars are all over the beach, and sticks can be found near trees. You might’ve run into Rubber already as well, as those are scattered about Seaside Resort.
How to Pass the Time in Hello Kitty Island Adventure
Once you have placed your bed in your home, you can interact with it to pass the time in your game. You’ll have the option to sleep until morning, evening, or night.
Unfortunately, it’s recommended not to abuse the time system in the game by changing the clock on your console for time traveling in Island Adventure, as some repercussions might affect your file.
