With an initial riddle to solve, and a string of treasure maps to follow, you might be at a loss – especially when you’re unfamiliar with the map of the region. Here’s how you can solve these mysteries and find the legendary armour for yourself.
How To Start The Lion’s Crest DLC Quest In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
To begin The Lion’s Crest, you’ll need to have progressed through the opening to the point where you’re free to explore from Troskowitz, after being released from the stocks.
You will need a Spade for this quest, so make sure to find one beforehand. Check merchants, miners, or local farms for one unattended.
There will be a DLC quest marker on your map to show you where to begin right from this point onwards – it will be pointing to the Troskowitz scribe, Gaibl. Speak with him to initiate the questline and he’ll tell you of the legend, and a riddle to accompany it.
He’ll also give you the recipe for Brunswick’s polearm, which you can smith yourself at a forge.
How To Solve The First Riddle In The Lion’s Crest DLC
After speaking with Scribe Gaibl, you’ll be able to see the riddle in your quest log to refer back to, as this quest does not use any further quest markers to guide you.
While this might sound like a long list of instructions and descriptions, there are only a few key things to pay attention to here.
Take leave of crone and maiden |
The two towers of Trosky Castle are the Crone Tower and the Maiden Tower. You’ll want to head out north through the castle gates, and if it’s your first time passing through, you should hear Henry refer to the riddle. |
---|---|
Pass through the hall of forest kings |
You’ll want to follow the roads north, and you’ll find a path that leads further north through the forest, starting at a shrine at a crossroads. |
Standing tall two guards of stone |
Like much of the Trosky region, this area will be rocky the further you head into the forest. After a while, as the road turns west, you’ll want to take note of the left-hand side. You’ll come across some tall rock formations with gaps you can pass through. |
A place to give one’s heart to God |
As you pass through these rocks and explore deeper, you’ll come across an old chapel set up in the cavern, with a stone cross on a smaller rock. Interacting with the stone cross will push it aside, allowing you to start digging. |
Here, you’ll find the first piece of Brunswick’s Armour, as well as two treasure maps. The treasure maps won’t be lootable items in the chest, but they will be added to your inventory, and Henry will remark about them.
The Lion’s Crest DLC Treasure Maps Locations Guide
After solving the riddle and finding the first pieces of the treasure, you’ll now have a couple of maps to solve. More maps will come later, but as they are numbered, they’ll lead you in sequence from one to the next.
Brunswick’s Map 1
The first map will be useful for where you’re at when you receive it. Taking a look, you’ll see the right-hand side features Trosky Castle, the shrine, and the chapel between the rocks further north.
You’ll need to continue following the road you took to get here, heading further west. As you go, check on your actual map to match the roads to the treasure map – namely, the distinctive triangular crossroads depicted.
In the woods just north of that crossroads, you’ll find a den of wolves, as well as two tall trees next to each other. After dealing with the wolves, check between two smaller trees above the wolves’ burrow entrance, and you’ll find a bag with the next piece of armour.
Brunswick’s Map 2
The next map will lead you further along the roads, heading southwest. The most notable things here are the large pond, and the arrow leading to Tachov to the east.
This map depicts the small settlement at Vidlak Pond, and you’ll want to follow the path as shown just behind the fisherman’s house.
Almost immediately you’ll see some large rocks along the cliff edge, and there will be three stone crosses atop the rocks. Find your way up the rocks, and head to the northernmost cross to find the treasure chest next to it.
Brunswick’s Map 3
The third map is once again leading somewhere not too far from the previous location. In this image, you can still see Tachov to the northeast, along with a pond meeting a river, and two bridge crossings, as well as some baths.
The baths are the ones at Zhelejov Tavern, and from this location you can cross both of these bridges immediately. After the second crossing, there’ll be a subtle path leading along the stream into the woods. After following this route a short while, look for a fallen log across the stream, and then head up to the hill that overlooks the valley stream.
Here, you’ll spot a large oak tree on the edge of the hill, and sitting beneath it will be skeletal remains. Next to the skeleton is a bag containing the next piece of the DLC rewards.
Brunswick’s Map 4
The final map will lead you southwest to the pond where the game started – and if you have the fast travel point for the Nomad camp, it’s easy to begin your search.
The point you’ll want to head for is up on a hill, directly between the Nomad camp and Bozhena’s hut. The terrain can be difficult to traverse, but once you’re there, you’ll encounter some treasure hunters who will be hostile, so get ready for a fight.
Once this is dealt with, look for a cross sitting atop a pile of rocks – interacting with this will give you the final rewards for The Lion’s Crest, completing the quest and meaning you have the complete set of Brunswick’s Armour.
