As you reach the final story quests in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you’ll have to make some significant choices. However, the quest called Reckoning has one main objective: you need to find a horse to escape the camp. Do that and the quest is over.

How Long Does It Take To Beat Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2?
It’s a massive RPG, so Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will take a long time to beat.
However, you’ll have the option to do some other things along the way. You have an optional objective to find Samuel and finding him leads to some other side objectives. You’ll want to find Samuel, as he’s one of Henry’s best friends, and the scenes that follow are some of the best in the game.
How To Find Samuel
First things first, you’ll want to find Samuel. He’s hidden somewhere in the camp, but you don’t know whether he’s been caught or is hiding somewhere himself. In reality, he’s been captured by Brabant, who you recently learned betrayed you and your crew, and you’ll need to find him.
Before you do anything else, you should get a Praguers Soldier outfit. While you can sneak your way around the camp in whatever you are wearing already, being dressed as one of the guards will stop anyone being suspicious of you. The easiest way to get one is to kill or knock out someone and loot their clothes.
If you don’t want to stealth kill a Praguer guard to get their clothes, you will be able to find full outfits in chests around the camp. Head to the smaller building around the western edge of the camp and you’ll be able to open chests there to get what you need. Just don’t forget to equip it!
From where you started the quest, head to the left side of the camp. Around there, you will see two guards and a trailer by an entrance to the camp. Just to their left, there’s an opening to an area with cooking gear and some places for guards to sleep.
Head through there and out the other side. Once there, head right and look for a gate on the left that has one section closed and one open, like in the screenshot above. That’s the best way to get there, but you can go any way you like.
From there, the room Samuel is in will be in front of you. There will be one guard standing next to the house on the right, but you don’t need to worry about him.
To get into the room Samuel is in, there’s a ladder on the left of the barn that gets you in. You can then drop down and surprise Brabant.
Once you’ve found Sam, you’ll have the option to either take him to a horse now or leave him there to get him later. The best thing to do is to leave him, do whatever else you need to do, and go and get him once you’ve found a horse. You’ll have to carry him to wherever the horse is.
Whether you save Samuel or not affects Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s ending. If you save him, you’ll get back to the fortress slower and some of the silver will be lost, annoying Hanush of Leipa in the process. If you leave Samuel, he’ll die but all of the silver will be saved.
Should You Kill Brabant?
In the process of finding Samuel, you’ll need to fight Brabant. He has captured Samuel and has tied him up in the barn.
After beating him in a duel, you’ll have the option to let him live or kill him. The only thing that’s affected by the decision is the final scene of the game.
We don’t want to spoil what happens, but letting Brabant live will paint Henry in a more positive light at the end of the story. Killing him isn’t as honorable, but he may deserve it for what he’s done. Ultimately, do whatever you think best fits the story you’ve built in the game.
How To Find Von Aulitz
After freeing Samuel, he’ll inform you that Von Aulitz is still in the camp, but is under heavy protection. You need to try and find him. To do so, head back to the guards and trailer we mentioned when finding Sam, on the Western side of the camp. The area you’re looking for is pretty much bang in the centre of the main camp.
If you have a disguise, you’ll be let in, but you can creep in if you don’t. There’s a ladder up into the barn behind the trailer, but you’ll need to distract the guard watching it. Just throw a rock behind the guard on the right of the door and quickly climb the ladder.
Drop down to the other side of them and enter the main part of the heavily guarded area. You’ll need to be careful of a couple of guards (just distract them or kill them) and the door to Von Aulitz’s room is on the right. Head on inside to find him.
Should You Kill Von Aulitz
Much like your decision about Brabant’s life. Whether or not you kill Von Aulitz once you’ve found him only affects a final scene in the game.
Leave him alive and Henry will avoid being seen like the people he’s been trying to stop. But, again, Von Aulitz has been a menace in Bohemia and may deserve it.
Since Von Aulitz is slowly dying anyway, the choice here might be easier for you.
You speak to him about the state of Bohemia, with him trying to persuade you that not everything Sigismund does is as bad as you think. You then get three options:
- Give Von Aulitz a dignified death.
- Kill Von Aulitz like a dog.
- Let Von Aulitz live.
The choice is yours.
How To Find A Horse To Escape
Finally, you need to find a horse to escape on before you leave. There are only a few horses still left in the camp, and they’re all in one place.
Be sure to pick up Samuel before you leave on the horse. In the end, who really cares about the silver you’ve saved for Hanush?
From the barn Samuel is still lying in, head out of the gate and go right. From there, pass some guards out of the back entrance to the camp.
Follow the perimeter of the camp around to the right, passing some farming sections and over some fences. The stable you’re looking for should then be right in front of you. There will be a few horses in there, and you can mount and ride off on any of them.
