While Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist is easier than its predecessor, Ender Lilies, it isn’t exactly a walk in the park. That is because it features some really annoying enemies and powerful bosses. One of those bosses is King of the Garbage Heap, which has three phases.

6 Best Japanese Metroidvanias

Despite both Castlevania and Metroid coming from Japan, there are surprisingly few great Japanese metroidvanias.

Those three phases are precisely what makes this boss difficult, as you don’t expect it to feature more than two. The third one, in particular, is the most annoying, so you want to have some spare heals during that phase. Here, we will tell you exactly how to manage all three phases of this boss with ease.

Before you start the fight, make sure you are totally ready. Crimson Bangle and Bone Bangle improve your stats, mainly increasing the defense, so make sure you equip them.

Also, equip Krios as the Totem, as it fully restores your HP when it goes below 15 percent; this is a one-time use between Respites.

Regarding the Relics, you should go with House Milius Earrings for a 20 percent damage boost by autonomous abilities and Tarnished Tag, as it reduces ten percent damage taken from enemies, and if you have three slots left, equip Effigy.

King of the Garbage Heap features three phases, and upon entering each phase, its move set will change. While there are multiple phases, the boss’s health pool isn’t that big, so the fight won’t take that much of your time.

First Phase

Attack Name

Description

Countermeasure

Ground Slam

The boss will charge up a slam that would result in spreading fire all across the ground.

You can either jump to prevent the attack or go near the boss and parry it using the Shackled Beast’s Counter. The latter option is preferable.

Claw Strike

The boss will strike you with its claws, and the strike releases three rocks. This attack’s range is more than you would expect.

It is better to dodge it inside to not get confused by its range. You can also run away and then dodge it.

The first phase won’t be that difficult, but note that the boss deals a ton of damage with both of its attacks, especially the ground slam one. However, parrying it is extremely easy, so you should do that instead of jumping in the air as, following the parry, the Shackled Beast will perform a counterattack, dealing massive damage. After you have depleted 50 percent of its health, the next phase will commence.

Second Phase

Attack Name

Description

Countermeasure

Fire Beams

The boss will shoot fire beams from its body.

The game will show where the beams are directed, so you can easily place yourself in a safe location. The beams will go on for some time, so take advantage of the attack and deal as much damage as possible.

Heat Wave

The boss will release a wave of heat around its body. It is an AoE attack.

This move won’t deal much damage, but it can inflict burn on you, which will deal some massive damage over time. So, when the beam attack is over, try to be attentive, as the boss may use this attack.

This phase is actually the easiest one of all three as the boss will stay in just one place, giving you several opportunities to damage it as much as possible. You just have to be careful of its heatwave attack, as getting hit by it twice will inflict the burn status on you, so make sure to avoid this move. Using the Barrage skill may come in handy when the boss is using fire beams, as your character won’t move a step.

Third Phase

Attack Name

Description

Countermeasure

Charged Roll Attacks

The boss will charge its attack and roll toward you extremely fast. It usually follows up the attack with more charged rolls.

You can either jump in the air or dodge by pressing RT.

Blast Roll

The boss will charge its attack roll toward you exceptionally slowly. The attack will leave behind explosive gas that can deal some severe damage.

Stay ahead of the boss, and if there’s not enough space, jump and dash in the opposite direction.

Ground Slam

The boss will jump and do a slam attack on the ground.

Dodging it simply would be sufficient.

The third phase is perhaps the most difficult one, as the boss’s attack will be extremely fast. You may not be able to react to its attack, but after a bit of practice, it won’t be much of a problem. You can jump and dash one of its roll attacks and dodge the second one.

Motley's Magic Stands prompt in-game.

If the third one is coming, simply jump and dash again. Even if you miss time on the jump, there is no need to worry as you can double jump and dash after each one. After defeating the boss, you will receive Motley’s Magic Stands as a reward.
