Now, Wizards of the Coast has added two more sourcebooks to its lineup for 2025. As reported by EN World, the first of these books will be Eberron: Forge of the Artificer – a new rulebook that returns to the magicpunk setting of the same name – planned for release on August 19. Described as a “Xanathar’s Guide to Everything specific to Eberron,” one of the most important features of this Dungeons and Dragons book is the addition of the Artificer class, updated using the new 2024 ruleset. The second product is an unnamed mystery book coming in October.
Dungeons and Dragons 2025 Release Schedule
- February 18 – 2024 Monster Manual
- July 8 – Dragon Delves
- August 19 – Eberron: Forge of the Artificer
- September 16 – Heroes of the Borderlands Starter Set
- October – Unknown Book
- November 11 – Forgotten Realms Player’s Guide

Beyond the new class, Eberron: Forge of the Artificer will have tons of content for both players and dungeon masters. Eberron-themed backgrounds, bastions, Dragonmark feats, and the half-elvenesque Khoravar species are just some of the character options found within, while DMs can utilize world lore, expanded airship rules, and the Sharn Inquisitives, Dragonmark Intrigue, and Morgrave Expeditions sample adventures to bring the setting to their tables.
New information has also been revealed about many of the other books coming this year as well. The Dungeons and Dragons dragon anthology, now titled Dragon Delves, releases on July 8, containing 10 different adventures from levels 1 through 12, each themed after one of the chromatic and metallic dragons. The Heroes of the Borderlands Starter Set releases on September 16, bringing the classic Keep in the Borderlands adventure to modern 5e, featuring a newbie-friendly tile-based character creation system and support for co-DMs to run the campaign.
Lastly, the Forgotten Realms Player’s Guide and Forgotten Realms Adventure Guide both come out on November 11. The former introduces backgrounds, feats, and eight subclasses inspired by the setting of Faerun, while the latter takes a deep dive into the Moonshae Isles, Icewind Dale, the Dalelands, Calimshan, and Baldur’s Gate, showing how these and other regions of the Forgotten Realms have changed. These eight new and updated Dungeons and Dragons subclasses – as well as the Artificer coming in the Eberron book – are available for playtesting via Unearthed Arcana, so interested fans should be sure to check them out.
