Summary

  • Valuable quest information is embedded in Kingdom Come II’s dialogue, impacting gameplay significantly.
  • Skipping dialogues can lead to confusion, missed opportunities, and less immersion in Kingdom Come II.
  • High-quality voice acting enhances Kingdom Come II’s dialogue, making it worth experiencing fully.

Being the choice-driven game that it is, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 places a significant emphasis on its dialogue, and that is even more emphasized in the almost record-breaking number of dialogue lines recorded for it. In fact, while Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 does allow players to fight their way out of a confrontation, even that isn’t always recommended, as the game’s protagonist, Henry of Skalitz, can be quite diplomatic if players allow him to be. In light of those things, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 offers players plenty of opportunities to engage in dialogue with NPCs.

With so much dialogue in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, players might eventually reach a point where they want to rush through conversations just to get to the outcome. This is a pretty common approach players take to a game like this, and it often really doesn’t affect things much apart from possibly leading to some confusion about the narrative. In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, on the other hand, spoken dialogue is far more important than it is in most RPGs, and it’s clear that Warhorse Studios wants players to value that dialogue as much as it does, as skipping it can lead to some unfortunate circumstances for players.

With Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Warhorse Studios delivers one of the first great games of 2025.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s Dialogue Often Contains Valuable Information

In most modern RPGs, dialogue truly can be skipped without penalty, so long as players are willing to compromise potential immersion and a deeper understanding of the narrative. Doing so in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, however, can directly impact gameplay, to the point that players won’t have any choice but to look up solutions online and hope that they are there.

When speaking with NPCs or accepting quests from them in most RPGs, players can generally find any information they learned from said NPCs in the game’s journal or quest log. That’s not always the case in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Sometimes, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2‘s NPCs will give Henry valuable information that the game’s journal won’t retain. In other words, if players skip an important line of dialogue, whether intentionally or unintentionally, they may miss out on an important detail about a quest, which will inevitably lead to them getting stuck not knowing what to do during the quest.

One particular side quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has players following a list of clues provided by an NPC — clues that aren’t explicitly lined out in the journal after accepting the quest.

Of course, skipping dialogue in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 doesn’t have to mean that players have completely neglected what is being said. It is possible to read faster than the dialogue is being spoken. However, that method isn’t entirely recommended either, as players may need that extra time to process everything that is being said. It might even be helpful for some players to record their gameplay in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 so they can go back and reference a conversation just in case they get stuck.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s Dialogue Is Excellently Voice Acted

Another reason some players might want to avoid skipping dialogue in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is its excellent voice acting. Not every single character in the game is well-voiced, but the vast majority of them are, and they can be rather delightful to listen to. Furthermore, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 takes an Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion approach to NPCs and features the same talent for more than one character. All of that said, however, the majority of it is still very well done and convincing, making it more than worth listening to.

By tying crucial quest details to conversations rather than limiting them to its journal, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 encourages players to fully engage with its world rather than attempting to skim through it. While skipping dialogue might be a somewhat common practice in other RPGs, doing so in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 can lead to confusion, missed opportunities, and an overall less immersive experience. Furthermore, its engaging narrative, backed up by its excellent voice acting, arguably makes Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2‘s dialogue worth experiencing from beginning to end.
