Call of Duty Raises Another $1.6 Million+ for LA Fire Relief

The Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone LA Fire Relief Tracer Pack has raised $1.6 million for California wildfire efforts. The series is known for contributions via the Endowment program, and this Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone bundle shows other ways the community can help.

Microtransactions have been an expected feature of the Call of Duty series since it started focusing on the multiplayer element. They originally came in the form of map packs but eventually included Supply Drops, Voice Packs, and weapons. When the series became a live service, new cosmetics like Operator Skins, Weapon Charms, and Emotes were added. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 continues this trend, with various Tracer Packs, Weapon Blueprints, and more available to purchase. Unlike most of the bundles, the LA Fire Relief Tracer Pack was designed to earn proceeds for the areas of California devastated by the recent wildfires. Since being added to the shop in January, this pack has raised over $1 million in proceeds meant to help for Los Angeles fire relief.

The Call of Duty Twitter account recently confirmed that Black Ops 6 and Warzone players have raised $1.6 million for charity by purchasing the Call of Duty LA Fire Relief Tracer Pack. The proceeds will be split between the LAFD Foundation and Direct Relief, a non-profit organization meant to help the victims of this year’s massive wildfires. Beyond the proceeds generated by the Call of Duty community, Activision has also donated $1 million to the cause, increasing the pot to $2.6 million. The tweet includes a thank you to the Call of Duty community and fans from around the world, highlighting that the wildfires touched the lives of people beyond the United States.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone Players Continue to Raise Money for Charity

Since it was added in January, the LA Fire Relief Tracer Pack has cost 2,400 COD Points, which roughly equates to $19.99. Like other Tracer Packs, and other Black Ops 6 and Warzone bundles, this one features cosmetics that fans can equip. This Warzone and Black Ops 6 Tracer Pack includes a Plasmic Operator Skin for Payne, Void Weapon Blueprint for the Swat 5.56, Null Weapon Blueprint for the AK-74, Spiral Weapon Charm, Leaking Emblem, Cross Section Sticker, and Layers Spray. These items primarily feature swirls of neon pink, blue, and green colors, and the Blueprints include various weapon attachments.

As Activision continues to update Black Ops 6 and Warzone with new cosmetics, future charitable packs may help with other efforts around the world. Having contributed a total of $2.6 million with Activision’s help, the proceeds may help Southern California recover from the wildfire tragedy.
