In many online games, a lot of players love to stand in the back behind the tankier builds. These players can act as support characters, or as ranged DPS. Throne And Liberty lets players select two weapons to swap between, and this will dictate the class they use. Players without any ranged weapons will be at risk of being taken out of fights after taking little damage, so melee DPS players are going to need some tricks up their sleeves to stay alive.

Throne and Liberty: How to Level Up Fast
Getting to max level early in Thrones and Liberty means getting to partake in the engaging and thrilling endgame content.
Deciding the type of DPS a player will be can be a rather daunting choice, with some classes in Throne and Liberty being far more challenging to master than others. It doesn’t matter what tier a class is in if the player cannot make use of its Skill rotations and optimal damage output. Here are some of the best DPS classes in the game, as well as how difficult they are to play effectively.
Updated on February 2nd 2025 by Chad Thesen: With the inclusion of a new weapon known as the Spear, there are some new build options available for DPS players to experiment with. 2 shining examples include pairing it with the Crossbow to get the Cavalier, as well as pairing it with the Greatsowrd to get the Gladiator. The Cavelier is great for ranged combat, while Gladiator will cater to players who prefer a melee playstyle. Players that like to blend the two together can pair the Greatsword and Crossbow for an Outrider. However, there is also the option to pair the Wand & Tome with the Staff for the ultimate magic focused character build.

Liberator
Staff & Longbow
- Primary Stats: Dexterity, Wisdom, & Perception
- Difficulty to Master: Medium
This build takes a while to come into its own, and players may not find it very good early on. It makes use of three of the game’s stats, and players will need the right gear to help round up all these numbers. Players will not have a lot of mobility as a Liberator, and will be sitting ducks while dishing out their damage.
These might sound like a lot of negatives, but the end result is a build that can pour reliable, effective damage onto a single target from a distance. Since players will have access to the Longbow, they can heal up any damage they take. They can also top up their mana when they need to finish off tankier targets.

Infiltrator
Dagger & Longbow
- Primary Stats: Dexterity & Perception
- Difficulty to Master: Easy
Infiltrators are a brilliant choice for a ranged DPS player. Swapping out the Crossbow for the Daggers means players have a massive boost to their survivability. They will still be glassy, but will now have the mobility to constantly be on the move. They can even exchange some of their life to get their hands on some emergency mana thanks to the longbow.
This build is easy to play, can heal itself up after escaping a bad situation, and can deal out massive amounts of damage in short bursts before going back on the move. Daggers have always been one of the best PvP weapons in the game, and their synergy with longbows makes the Infiltrator a fun class to try out.

Ravager
Dagger & Greatsword
- Primary Stats: Dexterity (Dip into Strength)
- Difficulty to Master: Medium
This melee DPS build will be at risk of taking damage, and to make matters worse, it is quite glassy. While this class gets the most from Dexterity, players will want to dip into Strength if they feel they need to increase their survivability. Players will want to master using skills that can help them escape danger.

Sometimes a quest tells you where to go, but not how to get there. Such is the case for Amitoi House in Throne and Liberty.
Once this survivability learning curve is out of the way, players will see some high damage numbers whenever they dive into their targets. The Ravager will be able to deal out large burst damage numbers before escaping, or they can deal consistent damage while their targets are crowd-controlled. Players will want to use gear that lets them have access to a large pool of mana so they can get in and out of combat reliably.

Scout
Crossbow & Longbow
- Primary Stats: Dexterity & Perception
- Difficulty to Master: Easy
When it comes to the best Throne and Liberty DPS builds, players need to consider how easily they can rotate between skills. Scout is an easy build that will let players reliably deal continuous damage against targets. Players will not have much mobility, so they will need to constantly be aware of their surroundings, and where their opponents are.

Throne and Liberty: World of Cooking Quest Guide
Learning to cook in Throne and Liberty can be frustrating, which is why this guide is here to help.
Most DPS builds will have a large focus on the Dexterity stat, so players can’t go wrong putting points into it. Once in position, the Scout will stand in place and rain down massive damage before relocating. Players will not want to stay in one place or be predictable, as this is a glassy build that cannot afford to be targeted by opponents.
5
Cavalier
Spear + Crossbow
- Primary Stats: Dexterity & Perception
- Difficulty to Master: Easy
The Spear weapon excels for close up single target damage, while the crossbow excels at long range damage. Combining the two allows for a build that can effectively fight foes at any range. Cavaliers not having access to either a Greatsword or the Sword & Shield weapons means it cannot take too many hits. However, it is highly mobile, and can disengage from the frontline should the situation change to its enemy’s favour.
When it comes to allocating skill points, players will want Perception to be one of their main stats. This will ensure more hits. While Strength should not be a concern, adding some points here can improve survivability should players find themselves struggling in the earlier parts of the game while developing this build.
4
Invocator
Wand & Tome + Staff
- Primary Stats: Wisdom, Strength, and Dexterity
- Difficulty to Master: Easy/Medium
The Invoker is a great all-rounder that can give players the versatility to change their role depending on the situation. Players can contribute to the damage output of the team, but then instantly swap to help support their allies as a healer. Lack of weapons such as the Daggers means this class cannot afford to get into harrowing situations.
It is important for players to focus on their positioning while developing this class so that they can easily run it at later parts of the game. Players that ignore positioning early might find this build a little harder to master. Players will want Wisdom to be a focus for their stats to ensure cooldowns are never a concern. Plates can dip into Perception, but this will only act as a tertiary stat.
3
Gladiator
Greatsword + Spear
- Primary Stats: Dexterity & Strength
- Difficulty to Master: Easy
While the Crossbow helps with ranged damage, and provides some AoE options, the Greatsword will give players a lot more bang for their buck in the melee department. This class is easy to play and easy to master for endgame activity. The Gladiator build will allow players to deal out massive damage while being a hard target for enemies to pin down.
This makes them great for players that love high-risk, high-reward playstyles. Even though this class can disengage easily and deal out high amounts of damage, one might think that makes it glassy. However, the combination of Strength Stat and Greatsword passives allows this class to also act as a Tank. This makes it one of the best options for new players that are unsure if they want to play a DPS or a Tank.
2
Outrider
Greatsword + Crossbow
- Primary Stats: Strength, Dexterity, & Perception
- Difficulty to Master: Medium-High
Greatswords are known to add survivability to a build. However, that is not so much the case for an Outrider. Outriders are DPS machines through and through. They deal massive damage at a distance, and massive damage up close.
While out of range, they can deal a consistent stream of damage to enemies preoccupied with a Tank. They can then come in and finish them off point-blank with high burst damage numbers. Outriders should not try to be long-range Tanks, there are other weapon builds that will accomplish this far better.
1
Scorpion
Crossbow & Dagger
- Primary Stats: Dexterity & Perception
- Difficulty to Master: Very Hard
The best DPS builds in Throne And Liberty will involve either the Dagger or the Crossbow. The Scorpion makes use of both — and is arguably the best DPS class in the game. However, they are not the best DPS class for every player. This build is one of the hardest to master, and not executing everything flawlessly means not seeing optimal damage output. Some players might get better DPS results by playing something easier.
The Scorpion has outstanding versatility, allowing it to evade being pinned down and giving it the ability to relocate constantly. This will be very important considering how glassy it is. Players will also be able to deal out massive damage numbers wherever they need, with low cooldown times. This means a player can effortlessly relocate to pick off already damaged enemies in quick succession. When it comes to very hard builds like this one, some players might want to try remapping their keys to see if it makes things simpler.
