Assassin’s Creed Shadows Art Book Leaks Online

Ubisoft fans eager to check out Assassin’s Creed Shadows may want to exercise caution, as the artbook for the game has leaked online. The leak comprises of hundreds of images, including concept art, character details, and other Assassin’s Creed Shadows details.

Although the game hasn’t yet reached gamers, Assassin’s Creed Shadows has already generated a great deal of controversy since its announcement. Any concerns players have had were likely made worse by Ubisoft delaying Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ release multiple times, as well as the publisher pulling out of Tokyo Game Show. With still over a month left to the game’s release, a new leak is threatening to spoil the game for players.

Now, an upcoming Assassin’s Creed Shadows artbook has leaked online. Hundreds of images have appeared from the artbook, revealing a number of elements of the game. Without going into spoilers, this includes alternate outfits, weapons, character designs, regions, and potential plot points. While the artbook images originally appeared to be uploaded to an adult website, it has since been reuploaded elsewhere, and a number of social media sites are talking about the contents, including on Reddit. As such, players who want to remain spoiler-free should be careful about where they go on the web until the game officially launches.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Artbook Leak May Be Tied to Delay

It’s not clear how someone got ahold of the Assassin’s Creed Shadows artbook early, but it may have something to do with the game’s delay. Assassin’s Creed Shadows was previously set to release on February 14. It’s possible that some shipments of the artbook may be arriving around the original release date, leading to someone getting their hands on it and deciding to put it on the internet. Any leak is frustrating for a developer or publisher, but this is likely even moreso because players will now have to dodge spoilers for over a month, instead of just a couple weeks.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows has generated more controversy during its pre-release period than most of the games of the franchise. For the moment, it remains to be seen if the game can deliver an experience that players will fully enjoy. The game has been controversial since being revealed, with criticism levied against it for everything from historical inaccuracies to culturally insensitive designs. Some fans seem to be more enthusiastic about the game after having seen some of the leaked material, though, so perhaps the title will deliver a winning experience after all.
