  • Players can snag the X-45 Heartbreaker rocket mount and the Love Witch’s Sweeper broom mount during the festivities.

On February 3, World of Warcraft launched its annual Love is in the Air event, granting players a limited timeframe in which to obtain rare rewards. Along with the elusive X-45 Heartbreaker rocket mount, World of Warcraft players have until February 17 to get the new Love Witch’s Sweeper broom mount, both of which have a low chance of dropping from the Apothecary Hummel boss encounter.

Held every February, Love is in the Air is World of Warcraft‘s spin on Valentine’s Day. Love is in the Air was reworked in 2024, and now World of Warcraft players can obtain romantic rewards and earn achievements by participating in the Gala of Gifts held outside Stormwind and Orgrimmar. Some event rewards, including a Heartseeker Moth pet and a Swift Lovebird mount, can be obtained by spending Love Tokens at the Gala of Gifts. These tokens are obtained by completing seasonal quests while Love is in the Air is active.

World of Warcraft Launches New Plunderstorm Rewards, But There’s A Catch

Blizzard reveals that World of Warcraft players can get new rewards for playing the Plunderstorm battle royale mode with a few caveats attached.

Although the Lunar Festival is still ongoing at the time of writing, World of Warcraft fans now have a chance to add more elusive prizes to their collections. According to a Blizzard blog post, the new Love Witch’s Sweeper mount can drop during the Love is in the Air boss encounter against Apothecary Hummel. The mount can be found in a Heart-Shaped Box that can only be obtained by defeating Apothecary Hummel using a high-level character. The battle against the Undead mad scientist and his minions can only be started via the Dungeon Finder. Along with the Love Witch’s Sweeper, the X-45 Heartbreaker can also be dropped from the Heart-Shaped Box.

World of Warcraft Players Have Two Weeks to Get a Pair of Rare Mounts

  • World of Warcraft’s Love is in the Air event runs from February 4 to 17.
  • A new Love Witch’s Sweeper mount is only obtainable from Apothecary Hummel while the event is active.
  • The new mount has a low chance of appearing in a Heart-Shaped Box, which can be obtained from Hummel once per day.
  • The rare X-45 Heartbreaker mount can also drop from the Heart-Shaped Box, giving players two rare mounts to farm for.

However, two additional new rewards are more straightforward, as the Lovely Rose companion pet and the Truly Heartfelt Shoulder ensemble set can be purchased for 40 Love Tokens apiece. Additional cosmetics like the Sturdy Love Fool and Romantic Picnic Basket are also available for Love Tokens. With the introduction of the Warbands system in The War Within, Love Tokens are now Warbound, meaning that they can be traded between characters on the same account. By taking part in the Love is in the Air event, World of Warcraft players can also make progress toward the February 2025 Trading Post reward track.

Following rounds of player feedback, Blizzard increased the drop rate of the X-45 Heartbreaker mount for the players’ first daily victory over Apothecary Hummel. The rate plummets until 11:00 AM Eastern the following day, when daily quests in World of Warcraft are reset. Only time will tell how the rarity of the Love Witch’s Sweeper will compare to the notorious X-45 Heartbreaker.
