Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is set for release soon. It’s the highly anticipated sequel to the 2018 action role-playing game from Warhorse Studios. Even in a potentially loaded 2025, it stands out as one of the top games of the year. Many players who enjoyed the first one are wondering if there’s a Hardcore mode. Here’s what we know ahead of the release date.
Is There a Hardcore Mode on Kingdom Come: Deliverance II?
On launch, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II will not have a Hardcore mode. The developers have revealed their future plans, however, including four planned expansions for 2025. One of them includes the addition of Hardcore mode. It doesn’t right now, but it will eventually have it.
The first expansion is a smaller one, but it will add the mode. It’s going to be free as well and is slated to arrive in the spring. It will also add horse racing and a “Barbers feature” that will allow players to customize what their personal Henry looks like. The other three expansions are slated for summer, fall, and winter 2025, but players won’t have to wait very long for the Hardcore mode update.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is set for release on February 4. Spring begins about a month and a half after that, so gamers won’t have to wait too long. This is not uncommon for modern games. Most of them come unfinished or without features that the developers absolutely plan to add later on. In this instance, that’s a Hardcore mode and a few other things.
The game is going to come out on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. It costs between $60 and $90 depending on the platform and the version you get, but they will all eventually have Hardcore mode for free. You can buy the base game without having to worry about paying for the expansion for the mode you want later on.
