Demon Slayer: Why Is The Hashira Training Essential For Demon Slayers?
Demon Slayer’s Hashira training is no joke. Why is it so tough?
A World Where Demons Reigned
If The Demon Slayer Corps Never Exsisted, Chaos Will Ensue
Without the Demon Slayer Corps around, there would not be a structured resistance opposing Muzan and his demons. The few that dared to fight back would probably be humans trained in military practices such as monks or samurais with very little to no practice. They would also not be properly equipped with the necessary skills, knowledge and tools to fight demons. Entire villages will be torn apart and humans will inch closer day by day to extinction as demons plan on taking over. Without proper knowledge or skills of Breathing Techniques, samurais would not be able to survive on their skills alone, as their skills would prove to be ineffective against a powerful demon’s blood demon art. In terms of equipment – without the proper knowledge of killing demons, nichirn swords would cease to exist, making it impossible for experienced samurai to even stand a chance against low-ranking demons.
In this world, there is only one demon whose blood flowing in its veins has the power to turn humans into demons – Muzan Kibutsuji
Humans would eventually fall into despair and accept their fate as prey for demons. They would most likely go into hiding and avoid coming out at night for the rest of their lives. Humans would also end up forcibly serving Muzan as their God or face death as punishment. While some may try to survive on their own, the chances of survival would be extremely low. Muzan’s upper moon demons would also have the upper hand, unleashing terror on their victims without anyone to stop them. Each upper moon demon would rule villages and capture humans to feed on or turn them into demons themselves if they see fit.
What Would Happen To Tanjiro’s Journey?
Tanjiro Would Be Helpless WIthout The Demon Slayers
Tanjiro’s journey as the protagonist in the series would have gone in the completely opposite direction. After the murder of his family members by Muzan, Tanjiro would not have the likes of the Hashiras or the Demon Slayer corps to inspire and guide him. He would be unable to learn any of the Breathing Techniques or the skills he currently portrays in the series. Tanjiro’s attempts to protect Nezuko on his own would fail, as he would not have the Hashiras or the skills to defeat demons who approach him, while Nezuko would be the only fighting chance of survival, it is questionable if she is able to keep up with multiple upper moon demons. This would also result in Tanjiro going into hiding to protect his sister, or Nezuko being eventually captured by Muzan.

Demon Slayer: Could Kokushibo Have Beaten Muzan as a Human?
When he was still a human, the Upper Rank One demon Kokushibo was the second strongest Demon Slayer in history. But could he have beaten Muzan?
With the Demon Slayer Corps being non-existent, the legacy of the Hashiras would also cease to exist. Without Ubuyashiki to create and lead the Demon Slayer Corps, potential Demon Slayers may not gain the powerful knowledge of Breathing Techniques, and they would be fighting hopeless battles against Muzan and his upper moon demons. While the chances of forming a resistance is possible for humans, they would not have the discipline, training and teachings of the Demon Slayer Corps. Muzan would reign freely and spread his influence across Japan, with cities and villages falling under his control with humans used just as food. He would gradually spread his reign of terror, slowly taking over the world.
