Here’s how to dominate the battlefield as Scarlet Witch in Marvel Rivals!

Scarlet’s auto-aim attacks are undoubtedly her kit’s highlight — her primary fire sticks to an enemy the moment you remotely point in their direction. This is an ideal tool for dealing with quick-paced dive characters, letting you lock onto them while they’re desperately trying to run away. Combined with her high-damage Chthonian Burst projectile and stun orb, Scarlet can be a pain to deal with.

The main reason why Scarlet is such a threat in the backlines is primarily because of her stun orb, the Dark Seal. Because of its wide radius, it can create gaps between strategists and other team members while also blocking off chokepoints like narrow doorways.

On top of that, her overall attacks are extremely versatile — she can use her primary fire, Chaos Control, for fast-paced characters like Black Panther and Spider-Man, and reserve her Chthonian Burst charges for slow tanks.

Of course, you can’t forget her escape mechanic, Mystic Projection, which makes her completely invincible and offers enough mobility to let her climb and crawl out of situations.

Still, she only has 250 HP and a relatively weak range and time-to-kill (TTK), so you can exploit those weaknesses by strafing and attacking her from afar.

Chaos Control has a range of three meters, so you can just space it out with almost any non-melee character so it doesn’t hit you. The Chthonian Burst, being a projectile, is slow enough that you can dodge it with effective movement, further proving that Scarlet is incredibly weak against ranged heroes.

Finally, there’s her Ultimate Ability, which is probably one of the easiest ultimates to deal with. When she triggers the ability, you can locate her exact location (even through walls) thanks to her audible screams and the red exclamation mark accompanying her. During this charge-up animation, she’s completely vulnerable, so you can either kill her mid-animation or knock her out of it with a snare, grab, or some other stun ability.

Scarlet Witch’s Ultimate Ability deals 800 damage to nearby enemies and detonates approximately four seconds after triggering.

How To Counter Scarlet Witch As A Vanguard

Scarlet Witch is usually an easy target for Vanguards because of her low health. Still, it’s worth noting that Chaos Control does more damage to tanks because of its scaling property, meaning the higher your HP, the more injury it’ll cause.

Melee Vanguards like Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Venom, and Groot, simply need to close the gap with any mobility tools they have. Hulk’s Radioactive Lockdown is especially strong in this aspect since it not only lets Hulk get closer but also prevents Scarlet from retreating.

Doctor Strange and Magneto can also hold their own quite well, and their shields are a solid counter against all of her attacks. Finally, there’s Peni Parker, who can deploy her Nest to keep Scarlet away and use her Cyber-Web Snare to immobilize her while she’s at it.

Hulk’s Radioactive Lockdown and Peni’s snare to knock Scarlet Witch out of her ult. Additionally, Doctor Strange and Magneto can use their shields to block the damage in a specific direction, often being enough to save a few teammates.

How To Counter Scarlet Witch As A Strategist

Strategists, and especially isolated strategists, are the Scarlet Witch’s primary target, and she has all the skills to ambush or catch up to them.

Except for Mantis, no other healer can contest her in a one-on-one encounter, so your best course of action would be to stay near an ally Vanguard, particularly when you’re not sure where the enemy Scarlet might be.

As for escape routes, you can use immobilizing abilities, like Luna Snow’s Absolute Zero, Invisible Woman’s Force Physics, and Mantis’ Spore Slumber, to consistently stay away from her. You can even utilize these tools and Jeff’s ult to knock the Scarlet Witch out of her Ultimate Ability. Still, the overall highlight here is using your abilities to ensure she doesn’t trap you.

How To Counter Scarlet Witch As A Duelist

In the grand scheme of things, the Scarlet Witch’s slow TTK makes her a relatively weak duelist and at a major disadvantage against most others. Melee DPS heroes like Iron Fist, Black Panther, Spider-Man, Magik, and Wolverine, far outscale her in damage, so all they need to do is attack her relentlessly and try to keep up when or if she tries to evade.

On the other hand, ranged heroes like Hela, Hawkeye, Namor, The Punisher, Moon Knight, Winter Soldier, and Star-Lord, can exploit Scarlet’s main weakness, reach, and strike her from afar. When she gets close, they all have the expertise to extend the gap and continue the assault.

One key strategy Scarlet Witch players often use against duelists is poking — her kit makes it easy to jab an enemy and quickly withdraw, thanks to Mystic Projection. This is where you can use stuns, like Squirrel Girl’s Squirrel Blockade, to temporarily immobilize her before she can run away. Then, with a Duelist’s offensive prowess, you can snuff off her remaining HP.
