It looks as though we won’t have long to wait for the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 to arrive now, if this latest leak is to be believed. A presentation slide from Chaintech, a Chinese hardware manufacturer that makes graphics cards for Colorful, suggests the new budget gaming GPU will be available in just a few weeks, a month after the launch of the RTX 5070 and 5070 Ti.
Two of the new RTX 5000 GPUs have already established themselves on our best graphics card guide, although there’s virtually no stock of the new cards at the moment. Nvidia hasn’t officially announced any RTX 5000 GPUs that are cheaper than the RTX 5070 price, however, and it’s hoped that the company will release an RTX 5060 GPU that brings the company’s new Multi Frame Gen tech to a more affordable price.
This latest rumor was revealed by regular tech leaker wxnod in a post on X (formerly Twitter), which purportedly contains a marketing presentation slide from Chaintech, showing when Nvidia will be releasing its new GPUs, month by month.
The slide, titled “Outlook for 2025” is in Chinese, but you can put it through Google Translate (as shown above) and see that it states March as the release month for the RTX 5060 and 5060 Ti, while also correctly listing February as the release month for the RTX 5070 and 5070 Ti, and January for the RTX 5090D and 5080.
If this release window is correct, it shows quite a different strategy from Nvidia’s previous GPU launches, where new GPU releases have been spread out over much longer periods than three months. As a case in point, the RTX 4060 was released in June, 2023, eight months after the RTX 4090 was released in October, 2022.
That said, while the two top-end GPUs may have been officially released, supply is a long way from meeting demand, and we’re hoping the situation is better for the RTX 5060 if and when it comes out.
Little has been leaked about any sub-$500 Blackwell GPUs yet, but the RTX 5060 VRAM is rumored to have just 8GB of VRAM, like its predecessor, while the RTX 5060 Ti is reportedly coming in both 8GB and 16GB versions, again much like the RTX 4060 Ti.
