Accessories are a key part of your build in Dynasty Warriors: Origins. They’re the only equipment besides your weapon that directly impacts your stats, and they offer a good amount of versatility that let you play to your strengths or compensate for weaknesses in your style.

Become a hero to rival Lu Bu or Guan Yu with these tricks for Dynasty Warriors: Origins.

With only two slots available, it’s very important to choose the right accessories and make the most of them at every opportunity. Once you’ve amassed a big collection of sashes, wristbands, and other flair, this list can help you pick the best of the best and stride into battle with confidence.

Phoenix Wing

Increases Maximum Health By Thirty Percent

The Wing series of accessories offer a health boost, which is always welcome in a game where enemy attacks are constant. Of the three, the Phoenix Wing has the biggest buff, giving you just under a third more hit points.

Since the bonus is percentage-based, it scales nicely with your level, but there will come a point where focusing on attack becomes more important. If you have a slot available, though, it’s hard to go wrong with more HP!

7

Ring Of Regeneration

Revives You With Low HP Upon Dying, Once Per Battle

It’s easy to write off the Ring Of Regeneration as the kind of accessory that, if you need it, you’re doing something wrong. On higher difficulty settings, though, it’s very possible (likely, even), to get taken out by an attack from offscreen or watch your health bar melt away as several officers gang up on you at once. In those situations, an extra life suddenly sounds very appealing.

The Ring Of Regeneration only saves you from dying. If a mission fails because of another character’s death or losing a key objective, you’re on your own.

6

Zhuhe’s Sash

Extends Rage Duration By Ten Percent

Completing the game with full Peace in every province will unlock a bonus scene after the credits, letting you claim this memento of Zhuhe. Zhuhe’s Sash lets you stay in Musou Rage for longer by slowing the rate at which your meter drains by ten percent.

In a lot of cases, the extra time is just a chance to “win more,” as only the most dire circumstances can’t be solved with a single range and the Ultimate Musou Attack that follows it. It’s nice to have assurance that you’ll be able to squeeze in one more combo if you need it, though.

Yes, the War God’s Sash slows Musou drain by fifteen percent, making it strictly better, but by the time you have the 500 Old Coins needed to unlock it, there’s probably nothing else in the game to do, so what’s the point?

5

Chimera Shell

Increases Defense By Sixty Percent

The Shell accessories, which boost your Defense stat, aren’t especially exciting, but the Chimera Shell is the exception. A sixty-percent bonus is certainly nothing to sneeze at!

Honorable Mention: Iron Arm Guards

If you want to go all-in on defense and become the ultimate tank, try pairing the Chimera Shell with the Iron Arm Guards. They give you an additional fifty-percent Defense buff temporarily whenever you defeat an officer, effectively more than doubling your durability when you need it most.

4

Red Dragon’s Talon

Increases Musou Gain By Ten Percent.

The Red Dragon’s Talon is earned by winning your faction’s Battle Tournament just before the Battle of Chibi at the end of the game. Making it through that grueling gauntlet of duels earns you this powerful accessory, which increases the rate at which you gain Musou in battle by ten percent.

Games To Play If You Loved Dynasty Warriors

Can’t get enough of Dynasty Warriors? Here are some other games that you might enjoy due to their combat, waves of enemies, and more!

Musou takes a bit of a back seat to Bravery in Dynasty Warriors: Origins, compared to earlier games in the franchise, but it’s important because Musou Rage serves as a full heal once you’ve unlocked the right skills. Being able to reach the threshold for Rage faster is critical for being sure you have access to it when you really need it.

3

Ravenous Spirit Amulet

Recover Five Percent Of Max Health Upon Defeating An Officer

The Ravenous Spirit Amulet is a very early acquisition, requiring only ten Old Coins, and it’s worth its weight in gold for most of the campaign. Five percent of your HP might not sound like much, but think about how many officers you fight and defeat over the course of a battle. That adds up to loads of precious healing items saved, especially if you can heal from a quick officer takedown in the thick of a melee.

The relative scarcity of heals overall makes this an absolutely clutch accessory. The only times it isn’t useful are in one-on-one boss fights like the one against Lu Bu, so remember to swap it out for something else before those battles.

2

Lion’s Fang

Increases Attack By Fifteen Percent

There are a lot of accessories that boost your attack, but almost all of them have conditions that need to be met first. The Lion’s Fang doesn’t ask for anything; just equip it and enjoy dealing fifteen percent more damage to everything. That’s the same bonus the other items offer, but given for free. The choice is easy.

Honorable Mention: Ceremonial Blade

The only possible competitor for the Lion’s Fang might be the Ceremonial Blade, but it needs to be used in large battles where you expect to defeat 2000 enemies or more in relatively short order. The Blade gives a fifteen percent boost for every thousand enemies slain, for the duration of the battle. It starts at zero, though, so you need to really work to make it better than the Lion’s Fang.

1

Disc Of Huanglong

Reduces The Cost Of All Battle Arts By One

One of your first goals in the postgame should be to finish reaching full peace in every province. Once that’s done, check your letters for an invitation to a Dream Battle at Hulao Gate. If you win this grand clash of every officer in the game, living and dead, you’ll be rewarded with the incomparable Disc of Huanglong.

Managing your Bravery and being able to use your Battle Arts effectively is the single most important skill in Dynasty Warriors: Origins, and the Disc makes that task much easier. Not only does it let you use big, expensive powers like Ice Luan more often, but it also means you’re much less likely to be left in the lurch when you’re just half a point short of the Special Art that you need right away.

With the Disc of Huanglong equipped, you’re truly a force to be reckoned with.
