Summary

  • Pokemon TCG Pocket’s latest expansion has brought a secret Garchomp emblem along with it.
  • Players can unlock the Garchomp emblem by collecting five illustration rares.
  • Not just any illustration rares, and regular versions of the five cards won’t contribute to the achievement.

Pokemon TCG Pocket‘s Space-Time Smackdown expansion has been live for a week and a half with its players making discoveries about the set and its cards as we go. Just like Pocket’s Genetic Apex set, there are secret achievements to complete that players won’t know about until they achieve them, including a challenge that bags you what is currently a very rare Garchomp emblem.

Emblems are badges that can be unlocked in Pokemon TCG Pocket and proudly displayed to demonstrate you have done whatever it was that needed to be done to unlock them. Open enough packs from a certain set, win enough battles against rival players, that sort of thing.

It looks like the new meta is here.

Shared by u/Dekloz on the r/PTCGP subreddit, Pocket’s Space-Time Smackdown expansion has brought a secret new emblem along with it. The emblem is a Garchomp, looking like someone has walked in on it in the bathroom for some reason. If you have seen anyone with this Garchomp emblem, you’ve seen someone who has been incredibly lucky during Space-Time Smackdown’s first ten days.

According to the Reddit user, who has the receipts to back this up, Pocket players need five specific full-art rare cards to complete Space-Time Smackdown’s secret Garchomp challenge. The secret achievement is called Champion of the Sinnoh Region, and if you want to know which cards you’re after to complete it, you can check them out below.

Good Luck Getting The Cards You Need To Unlock It, Though

To unlock the Garchomp emblem, you will need the full art versions of Garchomp, Cynthia, Spiritomb, Lucario, and Gastrodon. Unlike Genetic Apex’s secret Mew challenge, which required you to have at least one of every Pokemon from the original 151 to unlock it, regular cards aren’t going to cut it. Fellow players have confirmed in the replies to the post above that they have regular versions of the five cards above but have not unlocked the Garchomp emblem.

A Garchomp emblem isn’t the only secret unlockable Pocket’s devs have added to the game since the Space-Time Smackdown update went live. There are also some hourglasses waiting to be unlocked for completing a tutorial on how to use Tool cards. Not something most players will even look twice at, but worth your time since it’s a 30-second tutorial that gets you a couple of free hourglasses.

There’s good news for those of you with gaps to fill in your Genetic Apex set too. Pocket will seemingly be giving players three booster packs from the game’s original set at the end of this month, each of them guaranteed to have a card of four diamonds or rarer in their fifth spots.
