Now that official Baldur’s Gate 3 mod support has arrived, I’m excited to download all of the custom campaigns. The scope for fully realized, expansive, and detailed player creations is endless, and these original narratives give us entirely new worlds and characters to play with. One of my most anticipated mods is finally here, and it blends BG3 with the best starting zone in all of World of Warcraft.
Developed by ‘SquallyDaBeanz,’ the brand new Baldur’s Gate 3 mod ‘Forsaken’ takes one of World of Warcraft’s best starting zones and turns it into an entire campaign. You venture into a different take on WoW’s Undead starting zone, the Tirisfal Glades, with unique World of Warcraft-inspired activities strewn across the RPG. The mod isn’t even fully out yet, and it’s already giving me an excellent reason to return to Baldur’s Gate 3.
While this Forsaken teaser only includes the Deathknell region, there’s still plenty you can get up to. There are five new quests to start the storyline proper, a town, NPCs with unique dialogue, a dungeon, a party camp, and even original combat encounters. There’s still a lot to come as well, with more non-essential NPCs, merchants, skill checks, loot, puzzles, and plenty of finalizations to the overall balance.
When first teasing the creation SquallyDaBeanz said the Forsaken demo would take around 60 to 90 minutes to complete, as “it’s meant to be a small part of a larger campaign one day.” The mod also isn’t a one-to-one recreation of the World of Warcraft starting area, either, as both it and Baldur’s Gate 3 are such different games. Instead, this version of Tirisfal Glades has been built around BG3’s systems and mechanics, so it’ll play drastically different from the MMO.
SquallyDaBeanz has now released the Forsaken custom campaign teaser, which you can find here. To get started you just need to download the creation and begin a new game after making your character.
Don’t forget that we also have all the best Baldur’s Gate 3 builds for your next playthrough, and what to do with each of the Baldur’s Gate 3 classes as well.
