Moana 2’s upcoming 4K and standard Blu-ray releases are up for preorder at major retailers, including Amazon and Walmart, ahead of its March 18 release. If you’re interested in the 4K edition, you may want to order soon. If other recent Disney releases are any indication, Moana 2’s Limited Edition Steelbook could sell out before launch. Walmart has already sold out twice, but it’s back in stock now. Amazon, meanwhile, unlocked preorders for Moana 2’s Steelbook Edition a few hours after Walmart. The 4K edition also comes with standard Blu-ray and digital versions of the hit Disney movie.
Preordering from Amazon or Walmart locks in a preorder price guarantee, so if the price happens to drop between now and March 18, you’ll pay the lower price.

The Moana 2 Limited Edition Steelbook includes 4K UHD and 1080p Blu-ray discs alongside a voucher for the digital version of the hit Disney movie.
Just like Inside Out 2, it appears that the only way to get Moana 2 on 4K Blu-ray in the US is with the Limited Edition Steelbook.
The steelbook case features Moana, Maui, and Pua the Pig character art on the front. The back of the case shows the Adventure Canoe riding a big wave. The interior landscape art features Moana on the beach at sunset.
Along with the film itself, Disney is including a bunch of bonus features. If you loved the original movie’s sing-along version, you’ll be happy to learn Moana 2’s physical release also includes a full-length sing-along edition. You’ll also get to watch interviews with the crew, deleted scenes, and various featurettes.
Pricing for the Moana 2 4K Blu-ray Steelbook is quite steep compared to many other 4K steelbooks, but it’s aligned with Disney hits like Inside Out 2 and Deadpool & Wolverine. And both of those movies sold out at $65-plus preorder prices. As such, we wouldn’t be surprised to see Moana 2’s Limited Edition Steelbook sell out, too.

If you’re not interested in steelbook cases and don’t mind 1080p resolution, a standard Blu-ray edition of Moana 2 is up for preorder for $41 at Amazon and Walmart. This version comes with the same on-disc bonus features and includes digital as well as DVD editions of Moana 2.
Moana 2 is also getting a standalone DVD release, which is available to preorder for $35. Not only is it extremely expensive and significantly worse quality than Blu-ray, but you’ll miss out on the digital version, too.
If you want to watch Moana 2 now, you can rent or buy the digital edition from Prime Video for $25 or $30, respectively.
