Amazon have decided they don’t really care about Bosch: Legacy anymore, and they are going through the motions when it comes to promoting the upcoming final season. Fans had been calling for Amazon to actually promote Bosch: Legacy for ages, and they finally relented and unveiled the release date for the third season last week. Unfortunately, the exciting Bosch: Legacy update didn’t come as a total surprise to the devoted fan base, as bleedingcoolnews.com broke the news nearly a week before Amazon’s official statement. Clearly, the site didn’t get the embargo memo, and more shockingly, Amazon did nothing to stop it. Why? They don’t care. Case solved.
If the release date for Reacher season 3 was leaked ahead of time, the press office at Amazon would go into a frenzy, and demand that the offending site remove it at once. Amazon is the equivalent of a parent that has a favorite child, and their pecking order is Jack Reacher, followed by Alex Cross and in distant third place is Harry Bosch. Amazon definitely knew the release date had been unveiled ahead of time, but they just didn’t care enough to get the post taken down. This is actually surprising in a way, as Amazon’s favorite pastime is creating a culture of silence surrounding Bosch: Legacy.

Over 22,000 fans have congregated to share their love for Harry Bosch, and have kept the show in the news ahead of the long-awaited final season. Of course, not all the publicity has been beneficial for Amazon, as fans now know the truth about the shenanigans behind the scenes involving the cancelation and the potential cover-up to prevent the creative team from speaking out. Having said that, Amazon have just maintained their vow of silence, and they continue to flip the middle finger at the fans.
The release date itself feels defensive on Amazon’s part as they appear to be so desperate to not be seen to be using Reacher season 3 to kill Bosch: Legacy. Their decision to release Bosch: Legacy season 3 on March 27 feels calculated on Amazon’s part, as this just happens to be the day that Reacher season 3 comes to an end. It’s quite possible someone associated with Bosch: Legacy leaked the information about the release date ahead of time, so the fans would be aware of what Amazon were doing. Unfortunately, Amazon didn’t care enough to hide their intentions, and just carried on as if nothing happened.
