A surprising new update has arrived for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, giving an extra boost of life to the ill-fated comic book-themed action RPG. Developer Rocksteady confirmed in late 2024 that support for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League would be coming to an end in 2025, though a new, unexpected update just dropped for what is undoubtedly one of the biggest video game blunders in recent memory.
Criticized for its live service approach as well as its lackluster story, Suicide Squad: Kills the Justice League is a game that never quite got its feet off the ground. Initial sales for Suicide Squad came in way under expectations, something that would eventually cause problems for Rocksteady as well as the game’s publisher, Warner Bros. These poor sales numbers resulted in layoffs as well as cut content, though Rocksteady is still giving Suicide Squad some attention, surprise-dropping the game’s most recent update at the start of February.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has just received its final story update, and it leaves the Batman Arkhamverse in a very different place.
Development on Suicide Squad was brought to an end in January 2025, giving players a sendoff that has already become quite divisive. However, what was expected to be the final update for the game wasn’t its last one after all, with a mysterious new patch releasing for Suicide Squad this week. Rocksteady has brought the game up to version 1.024, and while patch notes have not yet been made available, previous updates have included bug fixes and content overhauls, sparking discussion over what may be in store for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League before its final curtain call.
New Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Update Released
Update 1.022, the game’s most recent patch prior to this newest one, fixed a number of bugs and added the Elseworld map. As stated earlier, Suicide Squad wrapped up in January, delivering fans one final season’s worth of content. Included in this final season was the conclusion to the game’s overall story, which, alongside several other developments, addressed Suicide Squad‘s controversial plot, which revolved around, as the title implies, killing the Justice League.
While fans never truly know what may happen in the future, it’s more than likely that this month’s update marks the final one for Suicide Squad. However, those who still want to explore the game are in luck, as Suicide Squad will introduce an offline mode. Players will still be able to enjoy most of what Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has to offer, though the live-service elements of the game will soon become unavailable. Rocksteady made a name for itself with 2009’s Batman: Arkham Asylum, a game that spawned perhaps one of the most critically acclaimed comic book video game franchises of all time. It’s unknown what the next steps look like for Rocksteady, though it’s rumored the studio will be heading back to its Arkham roots in the future.
