In Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist, players will come across Relics that can be equipped to enhance their abilities. Think of them as Charms from Hollow Knight—some boosting your damage, while others increase your defenses or provide unique buffs. At first glance, these Relics may seem locked at their base stats, but as you progress through the story, you’ll unlock the ability to upgrade them, making them even more powerful.
To do this, however, you’ll need to find a specific NPC after a key boss fight. Since Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist features a vast, interconnected world, it’s easy to get lost while backtracking for missed resources. How to Unlock the Relic Refinery in Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist
To upgrade Relics, players must unlock the Relic Refinery, which becomes available as part of the main story. First, you’ll have to track down the Chief Attuner in the Crystalline Mine and later speak with him in Old City Market. He will then send you on a quest to locate another Attuner named Yarrow in the Final Disposal Site to restore the lift to Central Stratum.
By this point, you’ll already have Garm’s Iron Stake ability. Use it to break through the floor beneath Old City Market, leading into the Subterranean Waterway. Explore the area thoroughly, and you’ll find a dead Attuner near a Respite. Interact with the Attuner’s body to unlock the Dive ability. This new ability will finally allow you to enter the Final Disposal Site region from the Subterranean Waterway.
This area is massive, so take your time to collect everything. Eventually, you’ll reach the King of the Garbage Heap, the zone’s main boss. Defeating this enemy rewards you with Motley’s Iron Strand, an ability that lets you use hook points to reach new areas.
Once you have this ability, head through the room on the right of the King of the Garbage Heap’s boss arena, using the newly unlocked hook points to reach the next area. Here, you’ll finally find Yarrow. After a brief conversation, he will return to town, and the Relic Refinery will be unlocked at the Old City Market, allowing you to upgrade your Relics when you fast travel back to it.
You’ll get a second Relic Refinery once you reach Central Stratum – Central City.
Upgrading Relics in Ender Magnolia Bloom in the Mist
The Relic Refinery is a new shop that becomes available after rescuing the Chief Attuner’s apprentice. This shop allows you to upgrade Relics to stronger “+” variants by exchanging Scraps, which can be collected by destroying enemy parts.
To break enemy parts, use attacks like Garm’s Iron Stake, Hati’s Charge, or Attuner’s Arts. The upgrade cost varies between 750 and 3,500 Scraps, depending on the Relic. Each Relic can only be upgraded once, but the enhancements provide a noticeable boost.
For example, the Sanguinary Raven Relic initially grants a 10% bonus to Aerial damage, but upgrading it increases the bonus to 15%.
The ability to upgrade Relics adds an extra layer of strategy to how you approach combat in Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist. Prioritizing upgrades for your most-used Relics in the Relic Refinery lets you try out different builds to discover which playstyle works best for you.
