How to Get Ventor's Gamble Gold Ring in Path of Exile 2

RNG is at the core of the crafting system in Path of Exile 2, influencing literally everything from the beginning of the campaign all the way to the late endgame. No item embodies this game philosophy more than the Ventor’s Gamble Gold Ring, a unique ring that can either be absurdly powerful or worse than useless, depending on the rolls.

Even obtaining a Ventor’s Gamble Ring is a gamble in and of itself, once again proving that only the luckiest of players who are graced by favorable RNG obtain the best loot. The only way to circumvent the reliance on luck in PoE 2 is to cough up cold, hard currency. Here’s how.

How to Get Ventor’s Gamble Gold Ring in PoE 2

There are three ways to obtain the Ventor’s Gamble Ring in Path of Exile 2. They are:

  1. Random drop from Level 64+ enemies.
  2. Chancing a normal Gold Ring.
  3. Trading with other players.

Random Drop

After players start clearing maps with enemies level 64 and above, there is a chance for them to drop an unidentified Ventor’s Gamble Gold Ring unique in the loot. This relies entirely on luck, and the only thing players can do to influence it is to increase the overall drop rate and rarity of items by doing the following:

  • Stack ‘Rarity of Items Found’ stat on gear.
  • Use Precursor Tablets with ‘Increased Quantity’ and ‘Increased Rarity’.
  • Take Atlas tree skills that give ‘Increased Quantity,’ ‘Increased Rarity,’ and ‘Increased Rare Monsters.’

Orb of Chance

Use an Orb of Chance
on a Normal (white) Gold Ring that has no modifiers other than the implicit ‘Rarity of Items Found.’ This has the chance of converting the Gold Ring into one of three uniques (if the item doesn’t end up destroyed). They are:

  1. Ventor’s Gamble
  2. Andvarius
  3. Perandus Seal

Trading

The final way to obtain a Ventor’s Gamble Gold Ring is to buy one from another player through the official Path of Exile 2 trade site. Do note, however, that this is an extremely expensive method as the only reason to buy this ring would be to get one with a high roll, and the ones with a high roll can go for hundreds of Divine Orb
—not a price to take lightly.

How Does Ventor’s Gamble Work in PoE 2

Unlike most other items in PoE 2, Ventor’s Gamble’s modifiers can go both in the negatives and in the positives, with a huge range that gives tons of room for RNG to make the results even more unpredictable. The stats are:

Ventor’s Gamble Gold Ring Stats

(6)–(15)% increased Rarity of Items found

+(0)–(80) to maximum Life

+(0)–(20) to Spirit

(-40)–(+40)% reduced Rarity of Items found

(-40)–(+40)% to Fire Resistance

(-40)–(+40)% to Cold Resistance

(-40)–(+40)% to Lightning Resistance

On a Ventor’s Gamble Gold Ring, the game engine rolls the dice seven times, most of them with an 80-sided die, and takes the result. Each additional roll makes getting a high roll exponentially more unlikely. What’s worse is that a low roll doesn’t necessarily mean the player only gets less stats, but leaves them with an active debuff with a negative effect that leaves them worse off. As a result, Ventor’s Gamble is a Ring that is more reliant on RNG than almost any other item in the game. At its best, it can even outshine items like Ingenuity Belt and Astramentis, but at its worst, it’s literal trash.
