14 Beginner Tips For Ender Lilies: Quietus Of The Knights

Ender Lilies is like if Child of Light happened in the Dark Souls universe. Here are some tips to get started in the game.

The Crimson Forest is one of the most annoying areas in the game simply because it can take up to several hours to pass through if you’re not lucky. There are so many portals in this area that it’s easy to get confused, and one wrong step can make you go to an entirely unnecessary location.

How To Get To The Crimson Forest

You can reach the Crimson Forest area after defeating the Shackled Beast in the Tethered Steeple. If you’ve yet to encounter the Shackled Beast, keep descending inside the Tethered Steeple section until you come across the Assembly Hall Respite.

Keep in mind that if you decide to rush straight to the Shackled Beast from the Assembly Hall Respite, you will be missing out on certain relics, gear, and other collectible items that you can find in this area.

From the Assembly Hall Respite, go down and move right until you encounter a lift. It doesn’t matter if you take the lift or not, as your main goal here is to head right. If you do decide to take the lift, there’s a path leading to the section to the right just next to it.

After you’ve arrived in the large section with several platforms leading further to the right, you simply have to progress ahead. There will be many enemies here. Keep in mind that you don’t have to jump on the platforms right away.

Keep walking on the ground until you come across three ledges that will help you get on top of the elevated platform, and from there, you can head to the Forest Barrier – Entrance Respite, and that’s where you’ll fight the Shackled Beast. Progressing further to the right will grant you entry to the Crimson Forest.

Crimson Forest Walkthrough

What makes Crimson Forrest such a confusing area is the fact that you have to travel through these portal-like stairs, which connect you to an entirely different section of the area. There are also different warp points in certain sections that can teleport you to a location inside the same section.

These warp points work one way only, and if you pick the wrong one, you might have to take a long detour to get where you want. You can check where these warp points will teleport you by looking at the direction in which they point towards.

To leave the Crimson Forest, you have to unlock the gate leading up to the exit first. If you head to the exit without unlocking the gate, you’ll simply have to do it all over again.

In short, your goal in clearing the Crimson Forest is to reach the rightmost section, so you should try to take portals that help you reach it as quickly as possible. You can check your map to see which portals lead to which part of the section, and that can tell you a lot about where you should go next.

There are ten bosses in Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights. Let’s take a look at how they stack up.

Unlocking The Gate Leading Up To The Exit

As you enter the Crimson Forest, you’ll be attacked by a wolf humoncolus. Keep progressing ahead, and you will encounter a few ledges that you can climb on top of, and larger enemies that resemble a mammoth. Make your way to the teleport point in the top left corner of the area.

Doing so will move you to the right, and you can drop down to access your first portal of the area, which will lead you directly to the Great Tree of the Crimson Forest Respite. This place will serve as a hub where several portals are connected. If you want to go anywhere in the Crimson Forest, this Respite is a great place to start.

If you want to get out of this place as quickly as possible, you’ll have to go to the portal that’s just below the Respite. You’ll enter the zone with lots of flying bee enemies. Go to the portal that’s down below, not the one to the right.

This portal will lead you to an area where you’ll find small bodies of water between the platforms. You can jump dash to clear the distance quickly and go to the portal to the extreme left and use it. From here, you can see a warp point to the right. Use it, keep heading right, and you’ll encounter a portal in the middle. Ignore it for now and go for the warp point further to the right.

The last warp point would have teleported you next to the portal to the extreme right, which is unreachable any other way. Use the portal, and you’ll end up in a new section. Here, you have to take the warp point that’s further to the right. Jump on the platforms to reach the portal in the top-right corner of the section.

The last portal should’ve brought you to a small area, and you’ll find a switch here, which unlocks the gate above. You cannot go further ahead from here as this part of the section is completely isolated. Fast travel back to the Great Tree of the Crimson Forest Respite, and now you have to make your way to the exit.

Leaving The Crimson Forest

After returning to the Respite, you will have to go back to the portal just below the Respite. In this section with the bees, head to the portal that’s down below again. You’ll reach the section with water. Here, you have to go to the extreme left again and take the portal there.

You’ll see a warp point to the right. Use it. You’ll end up in the middle of the section with a portal in the center and a warp point to the right. Use the portal in the middle, not the warp point to the right. It will lead you back to the section with water bodies, but by using this specific portal, you’ll be teleported to an elevated platform that was unreachable otherwise.

From here, you have to jump on the platforms to go to the right. Be wary of bees, and keep in mind that if you fall, you’ll have to go to the section above and take the portal again. Eventually, you’ll come across a giant wall. Drop next to it.

You’ll see a portal just below, which will take you into the same section as the Great Tree of the Crimson Forest Respite, but from a different entrance, and you’ll find a switch here to unlock the gate. Use the switch to unlock the gate and jump on the three platforms to reach the portal to the top-right.

After that, you’ll end up in the section where you’ll find several wolf homunculi like Hati. Keep heading right, and you’ll end up in a section with several damaged house-like structures, and you’ll also find Growth preventing passage in many spots. This area is full of enemies.

Keep progressing to the right, and you’ll eventually end up at the Crimson Forest Settlement Respite. From here, you’ll have to battle against Veol, The Crazed Wolf, to leave the Crimson Forest area.

How To Defeat Veol, The Crazed Wolf

The image shows Lilac running towards one edge of the screen while fighting Veol, The Crazed Wolf, in Ender Magnolia: Bloom In The Mist.

Veol uses attacks that can inflict the Shock status effect and is very quick at its feat as it jumps from one edge of the arena to the other in no time. You have to try to stick to the edges of the screen and be patient. As Veol comes near you at the edge of the screen, use your attacks to deal damage to it.

Veol uses many attacks that restrict movement, so try not to rush, and let the boss come to you. You can safely dash through his electric walls and go up to Veol and attack it. Veol usually tries to retreat back or to the other edge of the screen, so it’s best to fight against it near the edge where it can’t jump back after one or two attacks.

After you’ve defeated Veol, you’ll gain the Hati’s Charge ability, which allows you to break through Growth that had been preventing you from accessing certain parts of the map. After gaining the ability, you can safely leave the Crimson Forest and explore any areas that were previously locked behind Growth, such as the Subterranean Testing Site area.
