If you enjoy tongue-in-cheek references to popular game series, then Tails Of Iron 2: Whiskers Of Winter has some great nods that will evoke a smile and maybe a light chuckle. One of the best early examples of TOI 2’s cheeky wit comes via a side quest you receive in the Rift – Requiescat In Pace.

Find an unexpected ally once you defeat the Backstabber Mother.

If you’ve played Assassin’s Creed 2, then you’re extremely familiar with the phrase “Requiescat In Pace,” as this quest pays homage to Ezio Auditore’s signature sign-off while he finishes his targets. While most of your foes in Tails Of Iron 2 are massive monsters, this quest pits you against a lean, fleet-footed assassin, who will stop at nothing to defeat his prey.

How To Start Requiescat In Pace

After completing A Wicked Web and Hunt The Stealth Claw, another Beast Hunt will become available in the Rift, Requiescat in Pace.

However, this hunt primarily focuses on finding missing villagers rather than hunting down dangerous beasts.

Speak to Short Tongue at Bogmire Forge in The Rift, where you’ll get the scoop, then you can fast-travel to The Ruins of Claggy Rock Castle to shorten your journey to the spot marked on your map.

From the Ruins, head two areas to the right, where you’ll find Short Tongue waiting.

How To Defeat Noot Noot

Interact with the two dummies in the center of the area to trigger your foe to reveal themselves: Noot Noot the Newtalorian.

After the trap is sprung, switch to your best fire and electric weaponry to counter this assassin’s weaknesses.

This enemy is swift and uses a grapple to change position, combining their movement with quick ground slam attacks that can poison Arlo.

Stay on your toes, dodging the fleet-footed assassin, and counter with ranged shots if you’re struggling to find a rhythm to close the distance.

Dodge their blow dart attack (which immobilizes Arlo) and counter with Electric Elementa, which should stun them long enough to get in some melee swipes.

Avoid traps on the ground, which can also leave you stuck and forced to break out.

Once Noot Noot loses 33 percent of their health, they will flee and force you to chase them to the far right side of the map.

How To Beat Noot Noot Phase Two

You’ll find a merchant at Temple Toadspire Ruins along the way in case you want to stock up on your Elementa traps or replenish your ammo supply.

Continue to the far right side where Noot Noot is recovering from the beating you issued. Avoid Noot Noot’s electric spear attacks or parry them to unleash devastating damage in return.

Utilize ranged attacks here, and Noot Noot will go down quickly if you keep on the offensive.

If you’re out of ammo, wait for Noot Noot to attack and get their spear stuck in the ground, leaving them open for melee attacks.

What Rewards Do You Get From Requiescat In Pace?

Arlo completes Requiescat In Pace in Tails Of Iron 2: Whiskers Of Winter.

Once Noot Noot goes down, interact with the fish over the campfire, and you’ll find Arlo’s Bounty issued by a Warlord named Glubba the Gutt. The plot thickens with more references.

You’ll also earn the following items for your victory:

  • Natural TH Toadcor Hammer
  • Natural Toadcor Pauldron

With your new gear claimed, this completes the Side Quest, but opens up another in turn: Revenge of the Frog.
