Cyberpunk 2077: How To Buy And Upgrade Your Apartment

Here’s everything you need to know about buying and upgrading apartments in Cyberpunk 2077.

To get these legendary items, you’ll first have to find them, either by searching all over the map, completing certain missions, buying them from specific vendors, or looting enemies. These items will make V look cool while allowing you to become an almost unbeatable force in Night City.

Updated February 3, 2025, by Sean Murray: It’s been a while since we took a stroll through Night City. While the items on this list remain some of the best in the game, we thought to add a few more to pique your interest. We’ve also refreshed the links to other Cyberpunk 2077 topics you might find interesting.

Scorch

Cyberpunk 2077 Scorch

Type

Tech pistol

Price

Free

How To Get It

Own Gwent: The Witcher Card Game and Phantom Liberty DLC, link your Steam and GOG accounts (if not already owned on GOG)

Why You Need It

Powerful early-game weapon that outclasses everything else

The Militech Ticon is already a powerful tech pistol in its own right thanks to its ability to fire a three-round burst. The weapon isn’t found in the base Cyberpunk loot tables, so you won’t find one of these weapons until you enter content found in the Phantom Liberty DLC.

Unless, that is, you happen to own Gwent: The Witcher Card Game. Then you can start your Cyberpunk 2077 playthrough with Scorch, an iconic version of the Ticon that deals extra damage to burning targets.

Pair this with an Overheat quickhack or the Char grenade, and you’ve got an early-game powerhouse.

Yasha

Cyberpunk 2077 Yasha

Type

Smart Sniper Rifle

Price

Free

How To Get It

Twitch event, Mods

Why You Need It

A unique, hard-to-acquire weapon

The Yasha is honestly not that much better than a standard Tsunami Ashura. It has slightly better handling and reload speed but still suffers from having a single round in the magazine. That round will almost certainly kill whoever you shoot at, and from long-range too.

Getting the Yasha is a little tricky (and best accomplished with mods), but having it is like possessing a little piece of Cyberpunk 2077 history. A piece of history that also takes people’s heads off, but history nonetheless.

Quadra Type-66 “Hoon”

Cyberpunk's Type-66 Hoon lit underneath a street lamp in Cyberpunk 2077.

Type

Vehicle

Price

Free

How To Get It

Head to an empty warehouse at the north end of Night City, find the keys in a box hidden by rubble nearby

Why You Need It

It’s fast, and it’s got guns

Cyberpunk 2077’s 2.0 update revamped the game’s vehicles. Some got faster, some brake better, some became more maneuverable, and a few received built-in armaments. You usually have to pay El Capitan for one of these expensive rides, but there’s one machine gun-toting car just sitting out in an abandoned warehouse. All you gotta do is go out and find it.

The Type-66 “Hoon”, as it is affectionately referred to, is pretty much the same as the Type-66 “Javelina.” It’s just as fast and capable of off-road driving, but it comes with guns capable of ripping Raffens to shreds. It’s also quite possibly the fastest car V can get their hands on in the early parts of the game.

The Type-66 “Hoon” doesn’t become available until the beginning of Act 2, so don’t try to find it until you’ve finished the botched heist for Dexter DeShawn. After that, finding the warehouse starts the “I’m In Love With My Car” side job.

Ozob’s Nose

Cyberpunk 2077 Ozob's Nose

Type

Frag Grenade

Price

Free

How To Get It

Complete Ozob Bozo’s side quest, ‘Send in the Clowns’

Why You Need It

Whimsical colors and big booms

Ozob Bozo is a merc who just happens to appear like a clown thanks to his red hair, white face paint, and a big red grenade in the center of his face replacing his nose. Pair up with Ozob for a few whimsical side jobs, and he’ll eventually give you his nose as a parting gift.

Cyberpunk 2077: Best Quotes

Some quotes in Cyberpunk stand above the rest.

Ozob’s Nose is really no different from the F-GX Frag Grenade, but you can often acquire it at a higher level than you’d otherwise be able to craft grenades if you find him early enough. Ozob’s Nose also explodes with color and confetti, which makes it great for birthday parties.

Kiroshi “Cocaktrice” Optics

Cyberpunk 2077 Kiroshi Cockatrice Optics

Type

Face Cyberware

Price

€$25,438 at tier 5, or free

How To Get It

Available at Dogtown Ripperdocs at level 35 and above, or found in airdrops

Why You Need It

35 percent crit chance boost at tier 5

Damage is always king, and being able to increase your damage through critical hits can be an excellent way to achieve more damage. Unfortunately, boosting your crit chance is relatively more difficult now than when Cyberpunk 2077 was first released.

Enter the Kiroshi “Cockatrice” optics. These eyeballs provide a whopping 35 percent increased crit chance merely for existing in your head. This does mean giving up all the benefits of “The Oracle” eyeballs, but it’s a small price to pay for more than a third of your shots being critical hits.

The “Cockatrice” requires 30 cyberware capacity to install, so you might not be able to install these eyes until later in your Phantom Liberty playthrough.

10

BFC 9000

Cyberpunk 2077 BFC 9000

Type

One-Handed Club

Price

Free

How To Get It

Acquired from Hugo Selvig at the Coronado Dam

Why You Need It

Feel the vibrations

One of the few new weapons added since the launch of Phantom Liberty, the BFC 9000 is a reference to a certain Big F*@#ing Gun from a shooter of yore. It’s also… unsuitable for children under the age of 18 (or 19 depending on your state/country).

But if you’re looking for unparalleled melee excellence, the BFC 9000 provides a 69-percent (nice) increased crit chance while the user is above 50-percent stamina, 69-percent increased attack speed all the time, and 50-increased range. Oh, and strong attacks deal 10 percent more damage. Likely because of this implement’s hefty girth.

9

Erebus

Cyberpunk 2077 Erebus weapon in player's hand.

Type

Submachine gun

Price

Free

How To Get It

Obtain the crafting spec from the Cynosure Facility’s engineering quarters during the “Somewhat Damaged” job. Craft the weapon using the behavioral system component during the “This Corrosion” job

Why You Need It

Instant-kills after targets’ health reaches 33 percent

Whether your build uses submachine guns or not, you’ll be tempted by the terrible power of Erebus. This prototype SMG has a Blackwall AI inside that provides this weapon’s iconic effect. Any target hit by Erebus at or below 33 percent health dies instantly. This effectively cuts every enemy’s health bar by 33 percent.

It doesn’t hurt that Erebus also performs more like a shotgun submachine gun by firing six projectiles instead of one. It also has a five percent chance of uploading the Cyberware Malfunction quickhack with every hit, making bosses and cyberpsychos easier to deal with.

To get Erebus, you’ll need to have looted the crafting spec at the Cynosure Facility’s engineering quarters in the “Somewhat Damaged” main job. Then you’ll need the Behavioral System Component from the Militech Cerberus during “This Corrosion.”

8

Guts

Cyberpunk 2077 Guts

Type

Power Shotgun

Price

Free

How To Get It

Go pick it up in Memorial Park—it’s just lying on the ground in the bushes near three praying monks

Why You Need It

Unmatched early-game firepower

Rebecca’s signature shotgun is one of the best weapons in the game, but it’s definitely the best weapon you can acquire for zero eddies. It’s just lying on the ground in Memorial Park, apparently having been discarded by the petite but potent Edgerunner.

Gotta cruise Night City in style!

Guts is a weapon that takes some effort to control due to its intense recoil, but if you ever find yourself right up next to some unfortunate gangoon, just pull the trigger and watch as they completely come apart. You may want to bring an extra outfit—you’ll definitely get messy using this thing.

7

Chitin

Cyberpunk 2077 Chitin

Type

Integumentary System Cyberware

Price

€$33,915 at tier 5, or free

How To Get It

Available at Dogtown Ripperdocs at level 35 and above, or found in airdrops

Why You Need It

Become an unstoppable tank with this cyberware

There are many ways to prevent V from receiving damage in Cyberpunk 2077. The Pain Editor, for example, reduces all incoming damage by 7 percent at tier five. But the best way to prevent damage is to increase V’s armor, and the best way to do that is with Chitin.

Not only does Chitin provide 200 armor at tier five, but it also provides additional health regeneration the higher your Body attribute. This means you’re both preventing damage and regaining whatever health you lose faster.

Combine this with cyberware that offers a percentage increase in armor, such as the Para Bellum or Rara Avis skeleton cyberware, and V can become virtually invincible.

6

Pizdets

Cyberpunk 2077 Pidetz

Type

Smart SMG

Price

Free

How To Get It

Complete ‘Spy in the Jungle’ job in Dogtown

Why You Need It

The only silenced Smart SMG in the game

Smart weapons are just incredible. Once you get a lock, just hold down the trigger until the other guy falls over. Bullets (actually miniature rockets) home in with unerring accuracy to end gonks without fail.

The only problem is you can’t attach barrel mods to Smart weapons, so if you want to be a stealthy Smart weapon user, you’re out of luck. That is, unless, you get the Pizdets from one of Phantom Liberty’s many side jobs. With the Pizdetz, you get all the sublime accuracy of a weapon that aims itself without any of those pesky loud noises. Just remember that most enemies will turn towards the path of incoming fire, so make sure your victim is dead before you let off the trigger.

5

Militech Canto mk6 Cyberware

Cyberpunk 2077 Militech Canto Mk 6

Type

Operating System Cyberware

Price

Free

How To Get It

Obtain the crafting spec from the Cynosure Facility’s engineering quarters during the “Somewhat Damaged” job. Craft the weapon using the behavioral system component during the “This Corrosion” job

Why You Need It

Unlocks the Blackwall Gateway quickhack, which causes instant death

You can get either Erebus or the Militech Canto mk6 cyberdeck as a potential reward for one of Phantom Liberty’s endings. You’ll have to betray So Mi and pick up a few things during the “Somewhat Damaged” and “This Corrosion” jobs, but the reward for your backstabbery is perhaps the best cyberdeck in the game.

The Canto doesn’t offer a lot of RAM capacity, but it does offer the Blackwall Gateway quickhack. Unleash this Blackwall AI to kill anyone or anything after just a few moments’ upload time. Who needs a gun when you can just point and shoot with your mind?

4

Hercules 3AX

Cyberpunk 2077 Hercules 3AX-1

Type

Smart Assault Rifle

Price

Free

How To Get It

Find it during the “Roads to Redemption” gig. It’ll be sitting on a workbench in the Nighthawks Rehabilitation Center’s shooting range/warehouse

Why You Need It

Incredible firepower, no Smart Link required

You can’t get the Hercules 3AX until the “Roads to Redemption” gig, which comes after Phantom Liberty’s main story missions, and there’s a good reason for that. If you obtained Hercules any earlier, you’d trivialize every combat encounter in the game.

Cyberpunk 2077: Best Cyberware For Every Build

If you’re wondering what the best cyberware in Cyberpunk 2077 is, check out our detailed cyberware guide.

Although it’s categorized as an assault rifle, it’s more like a smart machine gun that you don’t even need a Smart Link to use. Fire it from the hip to spray poisonous bullets everywhere, while aiming down the sights causing those bullets to seek out and home in on enemies further away. Better yet, defeated enemies turn into a puddle of acid that causes even more damage to anyone who steps in their caustic remains.

3

Maxtac Mantis Blades

Cyberpunk 2077 MaxTac Mantis Blades

Type

Arm Cyberware

Price

Free or €$15,000

How To Get It

Potential drop from MaxTac Mantis officers, potential drop from Melissa Rory during the “Bullets” side job, ending reward for informing Mr. Hands during the main job “Black Steel In The Hour of Chaos.”

Why You Need It

The most powerful arm cyberware

Mantis Blades aren’t necessarily the best arm cyberware, but the MaxTac Mantis Blades are definitely the best Mantis Blades you can find. They deal more damage, have an increased chance to apply the bleed effect, and they’re blue steel instead of gray.

The only problem with the MaxTac Mantis Blades is how difficult they are to obtain. You can potentially get these blades from the corpse of a MaxTac officer, but then you’ll have to fight MaxTac and survive–not an easy task.

The other option is to side with Reed during the “Firestarter” main job and then pay Mr. Hands €$15,000 to help break Songbird out of the MaxTac convoy. This will unlock an additional optional objective during “Black Steel In The Hour of Chaos” that–if completed–will reward the MaxTac Mantis Blades.

2

Dogtown Skill Shard

Cyberpunk 2077 Dogtown Perk Shard

Type

Progression Shard

Price

€$17,000

How To Get It

Marcin Iwínski & Michał Kiciński, Junk Vendors at EBM Petrochem Stadium in Dogtown

Why You Need It

You can never have enough perks

Most junk vendors in Cyberpunk 2077 sell… well, junk. Which doesn’t exactly make them hot destinations for aspiring mercenaries. That said, you should visit every vendor in Dogtown at least once, especially the junk vendor in EBM Petrochem Stadium.

You might recognize these guys as the founders of CD Projekt, the developer that created Cyberpunk. Perks of being the boss. And the perk for you is a skill shard they sell for €$17,000, which provides a single perk point. They also sell skill shards for each of V’s skills, but all of these shards are available only once.

Remember to visit every Dogtown vendor to purchase a permanent upgrade, which can include skill progression, health, stamina regeneration, and more.

1

Rasetsu

Cyberpunk 2077 - A character firing a Rasetsu in Phantom Liberty's Dogtown.

Type

Tech Sniper Rifle

Price

Free

How To Get It

Stolen during the “You Know My Name” main job

Why You Need It

Snipes multiple enemies through walls

There’s no better sniper rifle than the Resetsu. Not only does it have awe-inspiring stopping power (often enough to drop enemies even with a single body shot), but it also has an advanced targeting system that will attempt to hit multiple targets at once by bending the trajectory of the bullet.

Not only that, but it’s also a tech rifle, so Rasetsu can fire through walls and most cover. Combine this with the Ping quickhack or the Kiroshi “Stalker” Optics and you’ll never have to worry about taking fire ever again. Just snipe every enemy you see that can’t see you back.
