The Ingenuity Utility Belt lets you boost your equipped rings in PoE 2, which can be incredibly useful. Learn how to get this accessory in this guide.

Knowing how to use Distilled Emotions is not only needed to min-max your endgame builds, but to also improve your farming strategies. This guide will detail everything there is to know about Distilled Emotions, from how to get them to how to use them.

Path of Exile 2 is currently in Early Access. The information in the guide is subject to change as the game continues further development.

How To Get Distilled Emotions

Delirium naturally spawned on a map in the endgame Atlas of Path of Exile 2. Completing the Delirium encounter in this map will reward players with some Distilled Emotions.

The primary way of getting Distilled Emotions is to run maps with a Delirium encounter. These maps are denoted by a small white icon on the endgame Atlas. The first thing that you will notice upon entering these maps is the Delirium Fog. Your objective is to stay in the Delirium Fog while killing as many monsters as you possibly can.

As you are killing monsters, a meter in the bottomleft corner of your screen will continue to fill up with rewards. The higher number of rewards you get, the more Distilled Emotions you will receive at the end of the encounter. To get the most out of it, try to add Pack Size, Monster Rarity, and any additional encounter that adds extra monsters, like Ritual or Expedition.

If you are unable to spawn Delirium naturally, you can also use a basic Precursor Tablet to force it.

Trading

Player using the Bulk Item Exchange in the official Path of Exile 2 Trading Website to buy Distilled Ire in exchange for Exalted Orbs.

If you do not want to farm Distilled Emotions yourself, you can also trade for them either using the ingame Currency Exchange or the Trade Website. Currency Exchange is unlocked after you complete Act3 on ‘Normal’ difficulty. Once unlocked, speak with Finn, Risu, or Alva in any of the Settlements.

Open the Currency Exchange, select your required Distilled Emotion in the ‘I Want’ section, and Exalted Orb
in the ‘I Have’ section. After that, add in the amount you need, check the current market rate, and consider paying an additional Exalted Orb for a quicker trade. Unless the in-game economy is unstable, none of the Distilled Emotions should cost you in Divine Orb
, especially later in the league when everyone is farming them.

Once the trade is fulfilled, you will see your purchased items in the Currency Exchange – drag them to your inventory to start using them.

If you are playing Solo SelfFound, do not forget to use the threetoone Reforging Bench recipe.

If you put in three similar Distilled Emotions, you will get an upgraded one. This is particularly helpful when you have a lot of common Distilled Emotions, but want a rare one.

Trade Websites, on the other hand, are much simpler (and sometimes cheaper) to use. Open the website, search for the required Distilled Emotion, and make sure that the Buyout Price at the bottom is set to Exalted Orb. If you need them in bulk, make sure to use the Bulk Item Exchange.

How To Use Distilled Emotions

Distilled Emotions serve two primary purposes, e.g. Anointing Amulets and adding Delirium Effects to your Waystones. The process is fairly simple, but there are a few things to keep in mind.

Anoint Amulets

Player changing the Anoint on an Amulet in the Installing Window.

Anointing essentially lets you get the benefits of a Notable Passive Skill without having to allocate it on the Passive Tree. This can be very helpful in endgame builds when you need a specific Passive Skill, but do not have enough Skill Points to path to it.

For instance, Icebreaker is an excellent Anoint for a Stormweaver Spark build that provides Freeze immunity, but to actually travel to that node, you will need around ten additional Skill Points.

In order to Anoint an Amulet, interact with any Distilled Emotion (right-click on PC, X/Square on consoles) in your inventory to open up the Anointing Menu. In this window, place the required Distilled Emotions at the bottom, and your Amulet in the top slot.

Keep in mind that the order of the Distilled Emotions can change the Anoint, so make sure to double-check it.

Once ready, click the Anointbutton at the bottom to add your desired Anoint (effects of a Notable Passive Skill) to your Amulet. At any point, to check which Distilled Emotions a Notable Passive Skill requires, open up the Passive Tree, hover over a node, and press Alt (R3 on consoles).

If you do not want to go through the trouble of checking every Notable Passive Skill, you can simply use this Anoint Calculator to see what different combinations of Distilled Emotions will allocate.

At the time of writing this guide, there is no way to Anoint a Corrupted or a Mirrored item. This feature is available in the original Path of Exile, so it should not take long to get added to Path of Exile 2.

Anoint Waystones

In addition to Anointing an Amulet, you can also use Distilled Emotions to add various Delirium Effects to your Waystones. Doing so allows you to add additional layers of rewards that you can get from running these Waystones.

Similar to Amulets, right-click (X/Square on consoles) on any Distilled Emotion to open the Installing Menu. Place your desired Distilled Emotions at the bottom, and your nonCorrupted Waystone at the top.

It is important to mention that Delirium Maps are significantly harder, so you will need a fairly strong build to complete them.

The table below shows a complete list of Distilled Emotions, Delirious Effects, and the additional rewards they give when applied to a Waystone:
