Ultimate Offering

More Normal Summons Per Turn

The Duel Monsters era of the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG could be slow at times with one monster being Summoned per turn. Ultimate Offering is a Continuous Trap that allows players extra Summons from the hand by paying Life Points.

The good thing about this card is that you can do this on your turn to stack your field or during your opponent’s turn to protect the rest of your Life Points from battle damage. Ultimate Offering is also not once per turn, allowing you to Summon as many times as you need to.

Toon Table Of Contents

Thin The Deck Easily

Pegasus is known for his Millennium-inspired cards but also his vast array of Toon Monsters. Among these cards is Toon Table of Contents, which is not only a fantastic card for the Toon archetype but could also be utilized as a deck thinner for other strategies.

Toon Table of Contents is unique because it can search out any Toon card including itself. This made it easy to shove three copies and a Toon monster into any deck and cut your 40-card deck down to a 36-card deck, heavily improving your ratios.

Witch Of The Black Forest

An Early Searcher

Witch of the Black Forest was one of the earliest searchers in Yu-Gi-Oh! history. Like many searchers of the time, they would need to get to the graveyard from the field in some way. For Witch of the Black Forest, it just needed to be on the field, so even being Tributed counted towards its effect.

Once in the graveyard, you could search for any monster in the deck with 1,500 Defense or less. However, you cannot use the added card’s effect the same turn. This card helped improve consistency in many early Duel Monsters decks.

Mimicat

A Tricky Cat

When Maximillion Pegasus unleashes Toon World, you know hijinks are about to ensue. One Spell from his lineup that can get up to some mischief is Mimicat. While a bit restrictive due to needing Toon World and a Toon monster on the field at the same time, the effect was well worth it.

You can grab a card from your opponent’s graveyard and use it. In some ways, this is better than Monster Reborn since it can also fetch Spell and Traps. Later on, Mimicat will also become searchable within the Toon archetype, allowing you to get it in your hand even when you’re just running one.

Toon Briefcase

A Surprise Hidden Inside

Pegasus has many tricks in his deck, whether it means dodging attacks through rubber hose-style movement, or turning his opponent’s monsters into Toons themselves. Toon Briefcase is a surprising Trap that can send Monsters back into the deck.

What makes this card different from other cards that do the same thing is that it is searchable through many of the Toon’s built-in effects. This makes setting it up quite easy and one of the more powerful forms of removal in Pegasus’ deck.

Comic Hand

Turn Monsters Into Toons

Many cards can steal monsters, but Pegasus’ Comic Hand card could twist the rules of whatever it snatches. Like many other Toon effects, it needs Toon World on the field, but upon stealing a monster, that monster becomes a Toon and can now attack directly.

This card also helps out because it gets a Toon monster on the field. This allows certain card effects that require both Toon World and an accompanying monster on the field to go live.

Toon World And Toon Kingdom

Catching Up To The Anime’s Portrayal Of A Card

One interesting detail when comparing the card game with the anime is that Pegasus’s Toon World often functioned like a later card known as Toon Kingdom. This is the Field Spell that allows him to play all his Toon Monsters while also protecting them from targeting effects and destruction.

Toon Kingdom is also treated as Toon World while on the field, making it essentially the same card, except that the anime got the powered-up version long before the TCG did. Regardless, these cards and their effects were key to giving Yugi a hard time.

Relinquished

An Early Ritual Monster

Ritual Summoning was never great during the Duel Monsters era, but it gradually got better. Not only do you need the Ritual Monster in hand, but you also need the accompanying Ritual Spell and Monsters to Tribute. Relinquished, however, was easier to Ritual Summon due to its low-level requirement.

Relinquished is an iconic monster from the final battle between Pegasus and Yugi, but it could also be used as a way to steal monsters and utilize their stats. The best part is that it can do this once each turn while also protecting itself using the stolen monster.

Flying Elephant

A Powerful Card That Arrived Decades Too Late

The funny story behind Flying Elephant is that it only shows up for a few brief moments as the card used to defeat Bandit Keith. The scene also never explains what the card does. However, Flying Elephant is a real card with a surprisingly brutal effect.

If your opponent tries to destroy it through card effects, it will survive. Then, during the turn after your opponent attempts this, you can try to clear the field and attack directly for an automatic win. While this card would have been devastating during the Duel Monsters era, it was not released until much later when the card would be power crept upon arrival.

Thousand-Eyes Restrict

One Of The Best Fusion Monsters

Out of all of Pegasus’ cards, Thousand-Eyes Restrict is the best of them all. Despite needing a Ritual Monster as part of its ingredients, Thousand-Eyes Restrict had alternative ways to hit the field and steal a monster.

What made this monster amazing is the fact that it could be easily Summoned using Instant Fusion. This helped Thousand Eyes Restrict become a generic extra deck option that not only negates effects, but can be used for easy removal.
