New Manga Embers Joins Weekly Shonen Jump
Shonen Jump is adding new mangas to its roster. Many huge manga that used to run in Weekly Shonen Jump have ended, such as My Hero Academia and Jujutsu Kaisen, so new manga are needed to replace them, as well as series that just didn’t manage to get high numbers and got axed for underperforming.
One of these new mangas is a manga known as Ember, a series about Football. People interested in this series will be able to check out its first chapter when it comes out on February 3, which will fall on a Monday.
The mangaka of this series are Kei Kurumazaki and Sotaro Nishii. Embers will be written by Kei, and illustrated by Sotaro. Some fans might recognize the name Sotaro Nishii. Previously, Nishii worked as an assistant on the manga Blue Lock and Wistoria: Wand and Sword.
Blue Lock is currently a pretty big manga, and is also a football manga, so Nishii has the experience and know-how to be involved in the newest sports manga for Shonen Jump.
Blue Lock creators even praised this manga and asked fans to check it out when it launches.
What Will Embers Be About?
Embers will be a sports manga, specifically about football. The main character, Haitani, is quite the strong delinquent, who ends up on the football field.
The first chapter will actually be 54 pages long, which is quite massive. The average manga chapter is around 17 pages only, but opening chapters often tend to be longer. This gives readers a good introduction to the series and possibly gets them invested in the story.
Where Will Fans Be Able To Read Embers?
As Embers will be published in Weekly Shonen Jump, fans will be able to access it on Viz Media or Manga Plus. The first chapter will be free to read, so readers can start this series this Monday.
