Indie games OlliOlli World and Rollerdrome have been delisted from sale on the Steam store. The pair of stylish skating games from developer Roll7, both of which are charming, fun, and boast excellent user ratings of 90% and 91% respectively, are currently unavailable to buy via the Valve marketplace. This change comes in the wake of Take-Two’s sale of indie publishing label Private Division in November 2024.
OlliOlli World is the third installment in the series of skateboarding side-scrollers. Its original entry quickly won my heart back in 2013 as a more pure, trick-led alternative to the likes of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater and Skate. 2022’s Rollerdrome takes that same spirit and gives it a new dimension in a hyper-stylish action game combining roller skating and guns into a unique, high-octane arena shooter with a pounding soundtrack.
In November 2024, Take-Two confirmed it had closed developer Roll7. Now, both of the indie games are listed as “no longer available on the Steam store.” There’s currently no indication if or when they might return. Previously published under Take-Two’s publishing label at the time, Private Division, the two games are now listed on Steam under the 2K name following the sale of Private Division to an at-the-time undisclosed buyer.
In January, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier reported that the buyer in question was private equity firm Haveli Investments. He adds that the company is working with former staff members from Annapurna Interactive, who collectively resigned from the studio in September 2024, with the goal of taking over the distribution of several former Private Division games.
For now, however, the fact that both OlliOlli World and Rollerdrome are listed under the 2K name (while the likes of Kerbal Space Program and upcoming PC game Tales of the Shire retain the Private Division label) suggests their rights were not included with the sale.
It’s of course possible that the games could return in some form, but for now they remain unavailable. PCGamesN has reached out to both 2K and Haveli for comment, and will update this story with a response if needed.
