Smite 2 can be a lot of fun in any role, but Junglers have possibly the most exhilarating job of all. The Jungle in Smite, and in most MOBAs, is located between the lanes. Enemies inside are hostile to both teams, but some of those enemies drop buffs that extend to everyone on the team that defeats them.

Smite 2 has a very wide selection of gods to choose from. Here’s our verdict!
The Junglers job is to level up by defeating these enemies, gain buffs for their team in the Jungle, keep the enemy teams’ Jungler under control, and pop into lanes to outnumber enemies when the opportunity arises. It’s a lot to keep track of, giving Junglers a lot to juggle.
Smite 2 is currently in Early Access, meaning any of the information below could become outdated as the game progresses.
How To Play Loki In Smite 2
Loki is, of course, a Jungler in Smite 2. Every Jungler accomplishes their job in slightly different ways; in Loki’s case, he is possibly the hardest Jungler to keep track of for the enemy team. When he does appear, he’s capable of dishing out absurd damage in a very tight amount of time, and it can create some real paranoia for his enemies.
Passive Ability: Behind You
Loki’s passive ability, Behind You, is very simple, and makes perfect sense for Loki; he deals extra damage when he attacks from behind. It is a 115 percent increase in damage, which is a noticeable increase, especially once his damage numbers start increasing in the middle and latter half of the match.
How To Get The Most Out Of Behind You
Getting into a position to use this can be difficult in a vacuum. However, Loki’s other abilities can help him with this, and we’ll go over those abilities next.
One thing to note is that the active item Blink Rune can get Loki directly behind enemies with ease. It does have a large cooldown, so be sure you’re going to get value out of it, but it can be helpful, in this regard.
Ability: Vanish
Loki’s Vanish ability turns him invisible and grants him a 35 percent bonus to movement speed. Taking damage while in stealth will temporarily reveal Loki, but the only way to fully reveal him is with a crowd control (CC) ability, or if Loki enters an enemy defensive area, like the area around an enemy Tower.
This also gives Loki increased damage on his next attack, which inflicts a damage-over-time (DoT) effect on the enemy. Loki will be able to stay in stealth for four seconds, and the ability has a 15-second cooldown.
Killing an enemy God resets the cooldown on Vanish, making it easy to finish one enemy God off and get into position to do it again on their ally.
God Aspect: Aspect Of Concealment
Loki’s God Aspect, Aspect Of Concealment, changes how Vanish works considerably. Instead of giving Loki increased damage on his first attack out of stealth, it will put both Loki and his nearest ally into stealth.
Preference for this is going to be entirely dependent on teamwork. If Loki has allies he’s coordinating with regularly, then this God Aspect can be beneficial, putting 40 percent of your team into stealth and taking advantageous positions. But for a Loki who’s primarily going to be operating solo, he may wish to forego this God Aspect for the DoT effect that he gains without it.
How To Get The Most Out Of Vanish
Vanish is a very multipurpose ability, capable of being used offensively and defensively.
- Junglers thrive when they’re able to ambush enemies that are unaware of their impending attack. Vanish can get Loki behind an enemy who wasn’t aware of his presence, and the extra DoT damage can make it a dire situation for the enemy very quickly.
- Vanish can be used to escape from danger. Enemies that don’t have an easy-to-use CC ability that reveals Loki are going to be hard-pressed to figure out where he’s going, and the movement speed increase makes it difficult for them to give chase, even if they do know where he’s headed.
- Vanish can also be used to make the enemy Jungler entirely unsure of where Loki is, or what he’s doing. Keeping tabs on a Jungler can help a team prepare for ambushes, and if Loki is Vanishing as he moves around the Jungle and when he rotates through the middle lane, enemies are going to be unprepared for him, wherever he shows up.

Ability: Agonizing Visions
Loki’s Agonizing Visions ability is an area-of-attack (AoE) ability, dealing repeated damage to enemies in the area while it’s active. On top of the damage, this ability blinds enemies, making it difficult for them to see anything outside extremely close range.
Loki’s passive ability, Behind You, functions on blinded enemies, regardless of which direction Loki is attacking them from.
How To Get The Most Out Of Agonizing Visions
Agonizing Visions is an easy ability to get consistent use from.
- The AoE damage of Agonizing Visions makes it good for groups of enemy minions. It’s good complimentary damage to his Basic Attack, and will help Loki get rid of those enemies quickly.
- Agonizing Visions really shines against enemy Gods. Because it blinds enemies, and Loki’s passive ability synergizes with that, Agonizing Visions is a fantastic opener to an engagement.
The rotation for a fight with an enemy God would go Agonizing Visions > Vanish > Basic Attacks. Agonizing Visions would damage the enemy while they’re inside the area, and blind the enemy. Vanish wouldn’t be helpful for the stealth effect, but the DoT effect that it causes would add further damage to the engagement, and his Basic Attacks would be dealing 115 percent extra damage due to his passive, regardless of Loki’s attack angle.
Ability: Flurry Strike
Loki’s Flurry Strike ability deals damage repeatedly in a cone in front of him. The final hit of the attack deals increased damage, and every hit inflicts a slowing effect on enemies.
Damage from Flurry Strike does increase with Loki’s Behind You passive ability.
How To Get The Most Out Of Flurry Strike
Flurry Strike can be used in a variety of scenarios, as with most AoE attacks.
- Flurry Strike can be useful against groups of enemy minions, dealing damage to all of them at the same time. Using this after using Agonizing Visions will dispatch many enemy groups of their own.
- Flurry Strike can be very useful against enemy Gods, even if you don’t use it as often as his other abilities. Being able to slow an enemy will keep them from making an easy escape, and it gives Loki a ranged attack, which will help him to reach those Gods that are keeping just outside his normal attack range.
Ultimate Ability: Assassinate
Assassinate is Loki’s ultimate ability, teleporting him to a location to attack an enemy twice. Both attacks deal heavy damage; the first attack also cripples enemies in the area, while the second attack stuns them.
How To Get The Most Out Of Assassinate
Assassinate is a perfect way for Loki to close a gap on an enemy without them being able to counter it. The bonus cripple and stun effects ensure that the enemy is not going to make their way out of the situation quickly, and almost guarantee a successful ambush on the part of Loki.
When possible, always try to teleport behind an enemy with this ability. It will increase the damage of the attacks considerably, with most enemies unable to swivel around and prevent that extra damage, at least on the first attack.
