Myrtle is one of the reagents Melinoë must gather throughout the Underworld and the road to Olympus—one of the ingredients she uses in the Cauldron and the Altar of Ashes. By finding and utilizing Myrtle and other resources, the young witch grows closer and closer to putting Chronos down for good. This guide shows where and how to find Myrtle and its uses.

Hades 2 is in Early Access. As the game development advances, some content may or may not change.

How To Get Myrtle

Melinoë finding Myrtle in the Fields of Mourning. It's a small bundle of white flowers with green stems. Melinoë has the "Gather" prompt.

Myrtle is one of Melinoë’s reagents, used to craft items and cast incantations, and can be gathered by hand in the Fields of Mourning. It requires no tool or familiarity to collect and can be difficult to find. Myrtle, like other reagents, isn’t guaranteed to appear, so it might take a few trips downstairs to get a good collection going.

You can help your chances with a few incantations, though. The Reagent Sensing incantation, unlocked after collecting five Silver and requiring one Moly to cast, will alert Melinoë to any nearby reagents when an encounter is completed. This can help to locate the ever-elusive Myrtle in the expansive and twisting rooms in the Fields of Mourning. Keep an eye out for a small cluster of white-and-green flowers!

The incantation Observance of Gaia’s Secrets, which becomes available after unlocking all of the Gathering Tools in the Silver Pool, also gives a +20% chance of finding an extra of resources that are gathered by hand, such as Myrtle, Moly, and Driftwood.

How To Use Myrtle

The Unseen Arcana's final upgrade, requiring 3 Myrtle and 10 Moon Dust. Here, The Unseen restores 6 Magick every 1 Sec.

Myrtle can be used to upgrade certain Arcana cards, and to cast certain incantations. You need 3 Myrtle to reach Rank 3 of IX, The Unseen, the Arcana card that regenerates your Magick every second. This final upgrade of The Unseen will let Melinoë regenerate 6 Magick every second.

Myrtle is also used for two incantations at the Cauldron. Empath’s Intuition uses 3 Myrtle and 1 Fate Fabric and updates the Book of Shadows with more insight about your companions and your bonds with them. Empath’s Intuition only becomes available after gifting seven or more Nectar and receiving seven or more Keepsakes in return–in other words, gifting Nectar to at least seven different characters.

With at least five companions easily accessible from the get-go in the Crossroads alone, getting this incantation is easy; but since you can only find Myrtle in the second-to-final Location in the Underworld, completing it might take a bit more time. The other incantation is Reviving a Mournful Husk, which becomes available upon reaching the Fields of Mourning, requires one Myrtle to cast, and allows for the Golden Boughs in the Fields of Mourning to show Melinoë where the various rewards are located.
