Summary

  • Dr Disrespect’s YouTube channel has been remonetized in late January 2025.
  • The streamer got demonetized in June 2024, after admitting to sharing inappropriate messages with a minor via Twitch Whispers seven years earlier.

Herschel “Guy” Beahm IV, better known by his online moniker Dr Disrespect, has managed to get his YouTube channel remonetized. The content creator is thus free to earn money directly via YouTube for the first time in over six months.

In June 2024, Dr Disrespect publicly admitted to sharing “inappropriate” messages with a minor via Twitch Whispers in 2017. While the streamer insisted he didn’t do anything illegal, he confirmed that these exchanges are what led to him getting permanently banned from Twitch in 2020. YouTube demonetized Dr Disrespect’s channel within days of his admission. The 42-year-old content creator has been working to reverse that decision ever since.

Dr Disrespect Fans Are Still Donating Thousands of Dollars to the Streamer

Despite the recent controversies with the popular streamer, new data suggests that fans are still donating thousands of dollars to Dr Disrespect.

Half a year later, his efforts have borne fruit. During a January 30 livestream, Dr Disrespect confirmed that his channel would be remonetized within the next 24 hours, as soon as he regulates “certain things in regards to donations” on the platform, Dexerto reports. Game Rant’s review of the content creator’s YouTube channel confirms that ads are once again playing on most of his videos and livestream VODs as of January 31.

The circumstances surrounding YouTube’s decision to remonetize Dr Disrespect’s channel are unclear. The streamer has been applying to rejoin the platform’s Partner Program since late September 2024, when he returned to streaming following a brief hiatus in the aftermath of his Twitch Whispers scandal. YouTube has already refused to remonetize Dr Disrespect’s channel at least once, instructing the content creator to reapply at a later date.

Dr Disrespect Will Continue Streaming on Both YouTube and Rumble

During this back-and-forth with the Google-owned video service, Dr Disrespect joined Rumble back in late November 2024. He has been streaming on both platforms since then, in addition to making some exclusive content for Rumble. The content creator previously suggested that he got over $10 million for his non-exclusive Rumble commitment. As of early 2025, his viewership on both platforms appears to be declining. But with YouTube now remonetizing his channel, the streamer ostensibly no longer needs to pull nearly as many viewers to match his monthly earnings from the second half of 2024.

Dr Disrespect got his YouTube channel remonetized just as Midnight Society announced it was shutting down. The company that he co-founded in late 2021 was working on extraction shooter Deadrop over the past three years. The studio cut ties with Dr Disrespect in 2024, after the circumstances surrounding his 2020 Twitch exit came to light. Multiple other entities, including Turtle Beach and the San Francisco 49ers, also cut ties with the streamer due to the sexting scandal.
