Chaotic and challenging, these multiplayer-featuring beat ’em ups are not for beginners—nor for the faint of heart.

Ahead of the game’s release, French publisher Dear Villagers shared a new Big Helmet Heroes trailer, which Game Rant can exclusively reveal. The 81-second video kicks off with some humorous pre-rendered footage, but quickly transitions to showcasing gameplay. Although Big Helmet Heroes will be playable solo, the game was also designed as a local co-op beat-em-up experience, which is something that its latest trailer repeatedly highlights.

Big Helmet Heroes Promises Great Character and Enemy Variety

Since enemy variety is a staple of any great beat-em-up game, Big Helmet Heroes won’t hold back in this regard. Its launch trailer offers glimpses of numerous mobs and bosses that players will get to punch over the course of the game, including goblins, robot scorpions, metal dragons, something akin to a siege weapon, and what appears to be a giant version of one of the game’s heroes. Gigantic creatures seem to be a defining feature of the Big Helmet Heroes enemy roster, with some of them being so massive they don’t even fit on screen, as seen around the 62-second mark in the new trailer. The game also promises immense character variety, boasting 29 playable heroes.

Where To Buy Big Helmet Heroes

Specifically, Xbox Series X/S and Steam users can pick it up for $19.99 until release, with this offer being characterized as a pre-order discount. The same deal is also available on the PlayStation Store, albeit only for PS Plus subscribers. The Switch version of the beat-em-up is the only one that cannot be purchased in advance.

Game collectors with a penchant for co-op games will get a chance to buy a physical edition of Big Helmet Heroes for the PS5 and Switch. Both will be available starting April 10. In the meantime, anyone who pre-orders the PC version of the game will be able to start playing it on February 3.
