But if we’re going to get digging, we’re going to need a pickaxe or two. Thankfully, we’ve not been left in the lurch, there are plenty of ways to grab those necessary Pickaxes, and we’ll take you through all of them. Naturally, this guide will also identify all the potential treasures here to be unearthed. Without further ado, let’s dig in.

How To Play Tundra Treasures

Where To Get Tundra Treasures Pickaxes

The Treasures type of event is a reoccurring Monopoly Go minigame. These events all operate the same, you’ll need to dig for treasures. Though, you can’t dig without tools, of course. You’ll need to collect pickaxes while the Tundra Treasures event is active. Thankfully, there are plenty of waus to get your hands on those valuable pickaxes. There’s a complete breakdown of every way to unlock pickaxes below…

• Gather Pickaxes from the banner event. There are two types of events, one of them is the banner event. These typically last two to three days. Their requirements range from collecting tokens, to landing on specific tiles. The current Banner Event has you collecting tokens. When there is an active Treasures event, pickaxes will be offered as milestone rewards.
• Gather Pickaxes from the leaderboard tournament. The second type of event you’ll have access to is the tournament-style of event. These almost always task you with landing on Railroad tiles, and will similarly provide you with opportunities to earn more pickaxes.
• Complete your daily tasks. Every day, at 8AM, you’ll be provided with three tasks (they unlock sequentially). These tend to range from passing go to upgrading a landmark. When a Treasures event is active, you’ll earn pickaxes from each task you complete (as well as dice and cash prizes).
• Claim your Monopoly Go store rewards. You can acquire these rewards every eight hours. When a Treasures event is active, you’ll be able to get pickaxes from it.
• Finally, you can locate buried pickaxes while digging in the event itself.

Use Pickaxes To Dig For Prizes

Now that you are equipped with a steady supply of pickaxes, it is time to get digging. Once you begin the Tundra Treasures event, you’ll encounter a grid of snow. Above this grid is an outline of the item(s) you are after. Every pickaxe you use will clear a single tile. Naturally, you’ll need to study that outline and carefully choose which square to clear.

Naturally, you’ll find that the objects you’re looking to unearth will vary in size and shape – as will the grids. Your goal is to dig them all up so you can progress to the next stage. You’ve only got until February 4th to progress through these levels. So, you’ll want to earn as many pickaxes as you can to get as many attempts to dig as possible.

And what exactly are you playing for? Well, the Tundra Treasures event is stacked with colorful rewards. This is a great chance to snag stickers so that you can fill your sticker album. You’ll also get heaps of dice, and you’ll have the chance to claim some pretty snazzy, unique prizes. That includes a shield as well as a token.
