Warzone Weapon Balance Changes Coming Next Week

Raven Software announced that Call of Duty: Warzone will receive a number of different weapon balance changes next week for the XM4 Assault Rifle and PPSh-41 SMG. February’s first Call of Duty: Warzone balance update could shake up the meta, if the aforementioned weapons receive buffs.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 2 began on January 28 and brought new maps, weapons, in-game events, and so much more. One of the newly added weapons is the PPSh-41 SMG, a weapon that many longtime fans remember fondly from Call of Duty: World at War. The SMG retains its rapid fire rate and high mobility from previous Call of Duty games, so PPSh-41 loadouts in Black Ops 6 and Warzone can prove to be quite potent with the right attachments and perks. The XM4 Assault Rifle is another fast-firing weapon with impressive handling, making it another popular option in the Season 2 meta that pairs well with the PPSh-41.

Weapon balance changes to the XM4 and PPSh-41 are coming to Call of Duty: Warzone on the week of February 3, according to Raven Software’s official Twitter account. Adjustments will come “early” in the week, suggesting that the update could arrive as soon as Monday. Raven Software “will continue to monitor the launch” of Call of Duty: Warzone Season 2 as they prepare weapon adjustments, but it’s unclear whether these adjustments will be buffs or nerfs. Patch notes for the new update will be released on Raven Software’s Trello board next week, likely coinciding with the update’s release.

There’s already a lot of speculation from Call of Duty: Warzone players about what the XM4 and PPSh-41 balance changes could entail. Other players shared what they would like to see with the update, such as a reduction in mag sizes for the XM4 and improved handling for the PPSh-41.
