Valhalla Survival Beginners Guide: Gameplay Basics

Progression

Valhalla Survival is based in the Midgard. It is the Middle Earth in the Norse Mythology, made from the body of the first created being, the giant Augelmir. In this game, you will play for Odin, the Norse god of war and death to defeat the cunning Loki and counter his plans.

Just like every other Action RPG title, this game also features several chapters and character classes. Those classes are, Sorceress, Warrior, and Rogue. There are a total of six playable in-game characters available in Valhalla Survival.

At the start of every round, you will have to survive for five minutes against multiple hordes of monsters and final bosses. You can use different character skills, equipment, and consumables to get an upper hand in these dungeons.

The most exciting part of this game is that you can control your character with just one finger. All the skills and special effects are automatic. You can also strengthen your character by using special skills and equipment. There is a total of five equipment slots, along with a weapon slot at the start of the game. You can adjust this feature by going to the inventory.

Currencies

To start a round you will need four action points. These action points take time to replenish so use them carefully. Apart from this, there are two more currencies available in the game, those are Golds and Gems. You can use these currencies in the in-game shop. While fighting in the maps, you can level up by collecting EXP stones from dead monsters.

Leveling up will allow you to enhance existing skills or acquire new skills. Also, look for Valhalla Altars and Treasure Boxes which are scattered across the battlefield to help you. At the end of these five minutes, you will also fight a much stronger evil boss. Defeating them will provide you with lots of special accessories and equipment. After clearing each location, you will proceed to a new one with tougher foes and stronger final bosses.

Dungeons

Dungeons progress differently from regular stages and are where you can obtain various essential rewards for growth. Currently, there are two dungeons, those are:

• Forgotten Golden Temple
• Village Defense

Forgotten Golden Temple is a place where dwarf Andvari’s massive treasures lie dormant. Survive for the given time, defeat the boss monster, and obtain massive Gold and Gems. On the other hand, the Village Defense dungeon is where you defend your territory, the last bastion against the ruthless invasion of void monsters.

Defeat all the incoming monsters and defend your territory successfully to obtain Hero Growth Stones and Transfer Perk Stones as rewards. You can get a revival in these dungeons upon death but limited to two times. The difficulty level of the dungeons controls the strength of the enemy monsters. As difficulty levels increase, stronger monsters spawn and the rewards will also increase.

Inventory

The inventory section is divided into three parts. Those are:

In the Equipments section, you can view your equipment, as well as materials and consumable items. You can sort your equipment here according to your preference. At a time, you can use a total of 10 equipment. One of the best features of this section is that here, you can lock equipment, and those locked equipment cannot be dismantled. The Equipment Acquisition Location Shortcut takes you directly to the lobby and switches to the stage where you can obtain this equipment.

There are a total of five equipment grades. Those are- Legendary, Hero, Rare, Magical, and Common. Each grade has different Gem Sockets and additional effects are applied automatically. Remember that Equipment Grade does not affect gem effectiveness, but it determines the number of available gem slots.

You can check and manage your weapons in the Weapons tab. All damage percentage options vary according to the weapon’s tier. You can upgrade your weapon by consuming weapons of the same grade. Resources used for weapon level-up can be 100% refunded through the weapon level reset function.

Skills

In the Learn Skill section, you can check your skills and acquire new skills by spending gold. Remember that Owned skills are shown as activated, and equipped skills among owned skills are marked with an ‘E’ sign. You can check the combination formula for transcendence skills.

In Skill Settings, you can arrange skills according to your preference by checking class skills, weapon skills, common skills, and skill combinations. One can check 8 skill slots that will be used in stages. Each class hero starts with 5 pre-set skills.

Weapon Upgrade and Levelling up

This feature is very useful as it increases the grade of a selected weapon by consuming weapons of the same grade and type. You can promote a weapon by selecting the target weapon and registering weapons of the same grade and type as materials.

You can obtain various weapons through weapon summons, using weapon ticket items, and other methods. Players should keep one thing in mind Rare grade weapons and above have additional tier ranges from 1-4, and Tier 4 weapons can be promoted to the next grade.

Using the Transfer Perk feature, you can transfer desired equipment perks by consuming gold, Perk Transfer Stones, and equipment. Perk Transfer can only be repeated on the initially changed perk, and equipment registered as material will be destroyed. The cost required for perk transfer gradually increases as you repeat perk transfer on the same equipment.

The same type of random perk cannot be duplicated on one piece of equipment. Hero Level Up is a feature that makes your heroes more powerful using Gold and Hero Growth Stones. You can obtain Hero Growth Stones through stage completion, dungeon completion, and other methods.

Selecting your Character’s Class in Valhalla Survival

The first and one of the most important steps is choosing the right class for your character. Your class determines your role on the battlefield, your character’s strengths, and the skills you will have access to. Picking a class that suits your playstyle is essential, especially for beginners.

1. Sorceress Lif

• Strengths: Great movement speed.
• Weakness: Lacks in attack and defense.
• Difficulty: Quite simple to master as it comes for free at the station.

2. Warrior Asherad
