These contain information from an engineer who once lived here, explaining how to escape and revealing his experiences. Could this engineer be Panecillo himself or a close friend of his? Whatever the answers may be, you must do everything in your power to escape this bizarre place.
Where To Find Tia Del Nido
The Gate of Saint Jerome campaign begins with handing the Stone of Madness to Panecillo. Panecillo gives you a key with a smiling face on it. You start in the area called ‘Cells’ with Eduardo and Alfredo in your team. First, head north to find Agnes sitting nearby. Close to her, you’ll spot an Oil Lamp, which is essential for Alfredo’s Investigate skill.
When you approach Agnes, she’ll ask you to find her glasses, which are located to the right of her initial sitting area, outside the iron fence. If you follow the footprints near Agnes’ original sitting spot using Alfredo’s Investigate skill, you’ll enter a room where you’ll find a key hidden behind a hanging painting.
This will grant you the Garden Key. Use it to retrieve Agnes’ glasses. After picking them up, your character will hide behind hanging laundry as someone approaches. Next, head north from your location. Use the key Panecillo gave you to unlock the stable, where you’ll finally encounter Tia del Nido.
How To Find The First Engraving
If you haven’t already, bring Eduardo to Tia del Nido and have him move the large crate in the stable. Then, using Alfredo, follow the golden trails in the stable with his Investigate skill. If you examine the trails where the crate was originally located, Alfredo will discover a crack in the door. Behind the door, you’ll find an engraving—read it with Alfredo.
After reading the first engraving, Agnes will arrive, and you can give her the glasses. Once this is done, you can end the day. Be sure to gather supplies before ending, as a long campaign lies ahead.
Where To Find The Three Mechanisms
On the next day, to locate another engraving, you’ll need to activate three mechanisms. Start by heading to the second floor via the stairs south of the Martyr statue. Search the cabinet with candles on it to find a worn crowbar. Give the crowbar to Eduardo. Then, use Eduardo to open the Scroll Archive door, distracting the guards with Alfredo’s Sermon skill.
Inside the room with a monk, steal the key hanging on the wall to obtain the Apothecary Key. Use this key on the second floor to unlock a room where you can interact with the statue next to a large wardrobe. Two mechanisms remain.
If you head north and go up the stairs, you’ll trigger a cutscene about the Pianist. Afterward, you’ll notice another mechanism on the wall, but guards patrol this area. Use Agnes’s Evil Eye skill on them, then have Eduardo push a large crate toward the wall mechanism.
The Doctor will visit this area in the evening, which can work to your advantage.
In a mirrored room in the western part of this floor, you’ll find the Luxury Cell Key and the Cell Tower Key. The Cell Tower is located on the western side of the map, providing access to the third floor. However, a guard is stationed there. Use Agnes’s Evil Eye skill to incapacitate the guard.
Additionally, there is a cellar door in the easternmost room on the second floor; don’t forget to unlock it if you want a shortcut.
Across from the room where you found the Luxury Cell Key and Cell Tower Key, there’s a room guarded by an armed soldier. This is the Pianist’s room, and you can now enter. Be cautious not to let the Pianist spot you. Next to the Pianist’s bed, you’ll find the last mechanism. Interact with it, and the next engraving will spawn on the upper floor of the Cell Tower.
If you follow the footprints in the Pianist’s room using Alfredo’s Investigate skill, a door leading to the inmates’ cell outside will open. Examine the basket in front of the statue here to find Priest Robes, which enable Alfredo to use one of his most important skills. Additionally, you’ll find an egg in the inmates’ cell.
Now, go to the Cell Tower. Then, with Alfredo, follow the trails on this floor to find a crack in the wall where you’ll discover a magnifying glass. This item allows Alfredo to Investigate faster. Use Agnes’s Evil Eye skill on the guard again, close the window with Agnes, light Alfredo’s oil lamp from below, and have him read the engraving on the wall.
Once you’ve read it, Amelia will approach you, and the day will automatically end. You will now unlock Amelia.
How To Find The Final Engraving
You can now access the Refectory, located in the western part of the Cells, near the large door next to where you found the first mechanism. Start by unlocking the cellar door at the entrance; use a crowbar with Eduardo to unlock it. Your first goal in this new area is to rescue Leonora. Wait until nightfall and enter the dining hall with Eduardo.
Additionally, there is an egg inside the locked chest to the south of the dining hall.
Use the crowbar to open the door above the room where Leonora is imprisoned. Then, use Agnes’s Evil Eye skill on the guard outside the door and lure him away. Once the guard is incapacitated, head down to Leonora. To free her, you need to light the angel statue on the wooden platform above her, where the guard was standing.
This will unlock the iron bars of her cell. Next, take Eduardo to the River Bank cellar door you just unlocked. Pick up one of the planks outside the dining hall and bring it to reach Tia del Nido. If you give her two eggs, she will reveal that the engraving is hidden beneath a red rug. Read it with Leonora or Alfredo to complete the first chapter.
If you don’t have eggs, go to the northernmost part of the dining hall, and you can easily reach it by dressing Alfredo in priest robes. After that, find the Kitchen Key from the top left. Follow the tracks on the second floor of the kitchen and go down to the lower level.
In the last clues, a book will appear, and you’ll learn that the final engraving is under the red rug on the left side of the dining area.
