On Twitter, user abzu235 shared a video of a scary but hilarious Spider-Man 2 glitch in which a missing texture makes Aunt May’s face look extremely blanched, leading others to compare her appearance to that of Michael Myers from the Halloween film series. The graphical issue was encountered during an in-game cutscene and lasted for a few seconds before the character’s face returned to normal. Notably, this glitch affected only the texture of May’s face and left the other areas intact, making the character look especially unsettling at first glance. In the post caption, abzu235 referred to this Spider-Man 2 glitch as the “creepiest jumpscare in the history of gaming.”
Spider-Man 2 Devs Addressing Launch Issues on PC
Unfortunately, technical shortcomings like the one temporarily impacting Aunt May’s appearance don’t seem to be a rare occurrence, with growing reports of players encountering issues with Spider-Man 2‘s PC port. As a result, the game’s poor state at launch has negatively impacted its rating on Steam, which shows “Mixed” at the time of writing. In the reviews section on the platform, several players noted experiencing many different issues, ranging from audio sync issues to crashes.
Over the past few years, PlayStation’s first-party games have experienced buggy launches on PC, prompting developers to quickly release quick fixes to address user-reported issues.
