Pokemon Fan Gives Solrock and Lunatone a Delicious Makeover

A Pokemon fan has given Solrock and Lunatone a yummy overhaul, giving the two new designs based around treats. The Pokemon creations have drawn plenty of attention from the community, with many sharing name ideas, Pokedex entries, or simply complimenting the artwork.

Giving Pokemon convergent forms or altered evolutions is a common fanart topic, with many players coming up with creative redesigns for well-established pocket monsters. While fans always eagerly await what Pokemon is unveiled next by the official developer, artists are constantly creating and sharing new concepts year-round.

Pokemon TCG: Pocket fans believe they have found the worst card in the game, after the arrival of the Space-Time Smackdown update.

One fan artist that enjoys tinkering with Pokemon, particularly by turning them into forms of candy and treats, is Candy-Hyena, who has shared the new Lunatone and Solrock fanart. Both Pokemon strongly resemble their original forms, but look as though an avid baker has made them. Solrock is now made out of chocolate, taking the form of a cake pop, with sprinkles, icing, and a celebratory birthday candle planted on its head completing the look. Meanwhile, Lunatone looks like a chocolate chip cookie, albeit with a bite taken out of it to create the iconic crescent moon shape. Instead of the oval pock-like irregularities that any normal Lunatone has, this one has been peppered with chocolate chips. The two Pokemon designs work well together, with the artist asking for recommendations on names.

Pokemon Fans Love Yummy Redesigns

WIth nearly 2000 upvotes at time of publication, it’s likely no surprise that the community has been sharing plenty of praise and ideas with the fan artist. At the moment, the most highly voted names for the Pokemon are Solpop and Lunadough, taking inspiration from cake pops and cookie dough. Other common suggestions are Poprock and Cakerock for Solrock, and Lunascone, Lunacookie, or Lunachip for Lunatone. Other fans simply complimented the artwork and asked to see what the shiny forms of the Solrock and Lunatone variants could look like.

While these designs won’t be in an official game, one player pointed out that they could nonetheless fit in well with an upcoming title. With Pokemon Legends: Z-A returning to the equivalent of France in the Pokemon world, it would make a lot of sense for there to be bakery-like redesigns of Pokemon in the game. Players are still waiting to see what the game will entail, as little has been revealed outside of the title and location, so it remains to be seen if the game will include any themed Pokemon like these.
