A Pokemon fan has shared new concept art with the community, transforming the Legendary Regis Titans into a Dragon/Steel Dual-Type. Pokemon lore states that Regigigas created the five inorganic Regis and sealed them away to later be discovered by trainers. However, the Regis have also been the subject of many urban legends and internet memes within the fandom, despite fans responding to their design with mixed responses.
Nintendo and The Pokemon Company are gearing up to release a new Switch game in 2025, succeeding 2022’s Pokemon Legends: Arceus in the Legends series. Pokemon Legends: Z-A may be skipping optimization for the Nintendo Switch 2, as a reliable insider mentioned the upcoming title will likely be available on the successor console through backward compatibility, without any of the gameplay being specifically tailored to the Switch 2’s hardware and software. The Pokemon franchise also continues its success in the Pokemon Trading Card Game and its digital counterpart, Pokemon TCG: Pocket, alongside the long-running Pokemon GO augmented reality mobile game.

Posted on Reddit by KosukeSukeP, a series of concept art pieces was shared on the Pokemon subreddit, showing two new forms that look like they could take on Mechagodzilla. The artist designed what a Regis fusion would look like as a Dragon/Steel Dual-Type, featuring a metallic variant with wings and a HAL 9000-like face, as well as a smaller form that resembled a fierce-looking space station, and the idea was similar to another Pokemon fan’s Regis artwork that turned the Legendary Giants into flying-type pocket monsters. In addition to these submissions, the artist also confirmed they were working on more designs and posting the concepts to their Instagram account.
Pokemon Fan Designs Regis as a Dragon/Steel Dual-Type Fusion
The Pokemon community was very impressed with the new Regis designs, and one Redditor noted that the Regidragos looked like a reference to the Angel Arm from Trigun, the manga series created by Yasuhiro Nightow. Another fan thought fusing the Regis was a great idea and hoped the concept would be added to a future game. The popular species has also had its fair share of bizarre designs, like one Pokemon fan’s Regis transformation into a vegetable, but this artist’s work looks professional and convincing enough to be considered by Nintendo.
New Legendary Regis were added to Pokemon Sword and Shield’s The Crown Tundra update, with two new forms joining the Pokedex. Regigigas and Regidrago, the electric-type golem and the spherical variant with dragon energy, joined Regirock, Regice, and Registeel’s debut from 2002’s Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, followed by the addition of Regigigas in 2006’s Pokemon Diamond and Pearl.
