Palworld Needs One Big Change to Level Up

Palworld has been on the rise with the amount of content it has been getting. The recent Feybreak major update has given the game more things for people to enjoy, from new Pals to capture to more beautiful environments to explore. With big patches being properly handled and executed like that, the game looks to have a great future ahead. However, should Palworld want to rake in even more success, its developer, Pocketpair, should consider introducing a change that could help take it to the next level.

The islands of Palworld are full of interesting things for people to enjoy, but that doesn’t mean they cannot be improved. If there’s anything that they are lacking, it’s more interesting settlements with interactive NPCs. Although there are some, they aren’t exactly places players are raring to head toward. Pocketpair could potentially introduce more NPC settlements while giving them something that helps them stand out and incentivize fans to visit them. Should the developer do that, it could lead to further content that helps Palworld become much more than it already is.

Palworld’s New Roadmap May Be Hinting at a Huge Milestone

Palworld has recently released an updated roadmap, and a particular detail hints at the next important step that will highly affect the game’s future.

What Types of Settlements Could Be Added to Help Improve Palworld

The settlements that can be found in Palworld may not be bad places to visit, but they aren’t exactly great either. Even with some of them having unique properties, most are not compelling or memorable enough, which often leads players to ignore them. Pocketpair could remedy that problem by adding new ones that have more charm and better qualities. Some possibilities include:

  • A new settlement that focuses on sanctioned battles, with personable NPCs that use unique battle gimmicks who players can take on whenever
  • A floating settlement somewhere within the vast ocean, where its inhabitants capture and sell unique fish and have blended their lifestyle with the aquatic Pals of Palword that surround them
  • A settlement that shows the industrial side of the game, where humans and Pals work together using machines to produce whatever is needed to survive the dangers of their island

Even with a game as large as Palworld, which seems to have no limits regarding how far it can expand, it will need something to help ensure its world feels alive. Adding more settlements can definitely help do that, and its up to Pocketpair if it wants to do so in the future.

What Should Be Done With Palworld’s Current Settlements?

If Palworld adds even more settlements, it shouldn’t ignore the ones that have been in the game since its release. Pocketpair could consider updating them so they’re still worth visiting. They can be updated to take up larger sections of the island they’re located on and add reworked structures to show how far they have advanced. Doing so can add to the list of beautiful locations in Palworld that people can visit while ensuring that the existing settlements aren’t just cast aside for newer future ones. If not a structural makeover, they could at least be updated to have more meaningful NPCs that provide unique quest lines and dialogue that make them interesting and intriguing characters that players will want to visit. If current settlements had one or two of them, they’d likely be far more popular.

Palworld‘s early access road map shows that the game plans to add plenty more new content, meaning there’s hope for more unique settlements being implemented. Adding them can help improve the exploration aspect and overall player experience, while also providing Pocketpair the incentive to work on the existing towns to ensure they match the quality of the newer ones that are put in.
