As ancillary characters in My Hero Academia, the students of Shiketsu High School received limited screen time, leading to minimal screen time for their quirks and powers. Camie also fell victim to the same predicament, as she only received a few moments of screen time in the entirety of My Hero Academia. Nevertheless, in those few moments, Camie was able to highlight and showcase the potential of her quirk.
Camie’s Glamour Quirk is similar to Midnight’s Power in a few ways, as both quirks rely on incapacitating opponents through a thick smoke, though Glamour primarily relies on deceiving opponents. By emitting a thick smoke-like substance from her mouth, Camie can trap her opponents in a mirage. This facade induces visual and auditory hallucinations in her opponents, in turn incapacitating them for a few moments. She can afflict a large number of people with her ability, making it perfect for a wide-scale attack.
Glamour’s Many Drawbacks
Camie’s Quirk Is Limited In Several Ways
While Glamour received limited screen time throughout My Hero Academia’s run, its drawbacks were rather visible in its few instances of usage. The primary drawback of Camie’s Quirk is its duration, as the auditory and visual facade lasts for only a short duration. While this duration can certainly lead to an opening for her allies to strike, Glamour only offers a small window for Camie’s allies to take advantage of.
Glamour also has another drawback, one that pertains to the potency of its effect. While it can last longer on weaker opponents, its effect is severely limited on stronger opponents, who can immediately discern the hallucinations. Her quirk’s use against All For One is a clear example of how her power could only distract All for One for mere seconds before he realized that he was under a hallucination.

Here’s why the Overclock quirk is perhaps the most underrated power in the My Hero Academia universe.
During Camie’s use of Glamour, it can be witnessed that her visual hallucinations are rather unrealistic and over-the-top, which can be a giveaway of the fact that the victim is under a hallucination. While it hasn’t been confirmed whether this is an actual limitation or merely an intentional aspect, it’s clearly a drawback that limits Glamour’s potential in battle.
Glamour’s Applications In Battle
Glamour Offers Support and Utility to Allies
Illusionary quirks are rather limited in the world of My Hero Academia, as only a handful of such quirks have been witnessed throughout the series. This deems Camie’s quirk rather unique, making her power all the more valuable for her allies in battle. Since Camie is merely a minor character in the series, her quirk has only been witnessed twice in My Hero Academia. However, both instances showcase the immense potential that the quirk has, whether it’s creating an aurora in the sky to distract a group of people, or stopping a singular target in their tracks by creating an absurd illusion.
Sorry hun, just a little illusion for ya.
The significance of Glamour became evident when her quirk saved Hawk’s life. With All For One charging into Hawks head-on, it seemed that the No. 2 Hero’s end was imminent. However, Camie’s last-minute play with Glamour saved Hawk’s life, as she distracted All For One with an absurd visual image of Hawks. This instance showcases exactly how Camie can use her quirk to stall for time or create an opening for her allies to stop enemies in their tracks.
It’s also worth noting that illusion-based quirks are also more potent than their counterparts. Present Mic has also mentioned that abusing this quirk is prohibited, a statement that showcases the fact that this quirk has powerful applications that can be misused with ease. While Camie herself is rather unassuming and laid-back, her quirk is no joke, as illusion-based powers are arguably one of the strongest utility quirks in My Hero Academia.
My Hero Academia is available to stream on Prime Video.
