How to Get Shiny Nosepass & Shiny Probopass in Pokemon GO
Much like other general shiny encounters in Pokemon GO, there is no way to guarantee a shiny Nosepass spawn. Players may encounter a shiny Nosepass by chance when Nosepass is featured as a wild spawn during a specific season or an event in which it is featured. The general shiny rates for normal wild Pokemon tend to be an average of 1 in 500, as discovered by The Silph Road through extraction and examination of player data while they were partnered with Niantic.
While these odds are pretty difficult to meet through the sheer chance of RNG, players can try and boost their luck through some methods, such as using Incense to increase these spawn rates. While this doesn’t boost the shiny rates for Nosepass itself, it does provide the opportunity to boost the amount of Nosepass that spawn (particularly if it is a featured encounter in an event), therefore giving players more opportunities to reach those lucky shiny odds.
Furthermore, there may be occasional events that boost the shiny rates of wild Pokemon temporarily, including Nosepass. An example of this is the 2025 Lunar New Year event, which boosts the chances of players encountering this shiny, golden variant of this Rock-type monster.
Once players find and catch a shiny Nosepass, they can evolve it into a shiny Probopass, if they wish to do so. This evolution will cost 50 Nosepass candies, but players will not get the option to evolve their Nosepass unless they are in the range of an active Magnetic Lure. These lures can be purchased through the in-game Pokemon GO store or can be earned through certain events or in-game opportunities.
