Synduality: Echo Of Ada – Co-Op Guide
Synduality is mostly a solo adventure, but you can still team-up with the players you meet along the way.
Crafting is a pretty simple process, but it has some extra steps added to it seemingly designed to make you suffer just a bit more. Nothing good comes easy in Synduality, after all. Here’s everything you need to know about the crafting system, and some tips to speed it up.
How To Unlock Crafting
When you begin Synduality, the only real option available to you will be to go on sorties. Over time, you’ll start to gather up some materials, and the game will task you with repairing the floors and walls of your various facilities. Repairing these in the Production Space will let you then upgrade your Crafting Station.
Doing so unlocks the ability to craft, nice and easy. However, you will be extremely short of both rare materials and worthwhile crafting blueprints at the moment. The most useful items you can craft right now will be Repair Kits, so wishlist them to make sure any Green Beryl gets marked while you’re out on a sortie.
A Request will also be given to you to craft some Repair Kits to get you used to the crafting system.
How Does Crafting Work?
You would hope, being a paid game with multiplayer elements, that the crafting would be fast and seamless so you can get right back into the action right away. Sadly, that is not the case. Every item you can craft in Synduality takes time, from as ten seconds to multiple hours. As the time increases, so too does the number and rarity of materials, and the credit cost in turn.
As such, make sure never to craft anything you don’t actually need. You don’t want to take up a whole slot from the Crafting Station, and there’s no getting back the materials and costs it took to make it in the first place if you cancel it.
Graciously, Synduality offers you the chance to speed up the crafting process. If you’re willing to open your bank account, of course. Metaphorically and literally. You can spend your in-game credits to complete the process, though this increases exponentially as the time increases. Completing a 30 minute crafting sessions immediately might be worthwhile, but anything over an hour is just a waste unless you have credits to burn.
The price also reduces dynamically with time, so you could wait a while for the price to go down before you complete it.
You can also use Syn Coins, the game’s premium currency. These are just about never worth using as it requires an exorbitant amount for even the shortest amount of time. If you aren’t keen on buying rank from the Drifter Pass and don’t want anything from the store though, feel free to use them. It should be a last resort, though.
That’s all there is to crafting though. Once the timer completes, you have your item. If you wishlist an item, any craftable components for it will also show up with a smaller pink heart to indicate as such. So you don’t have to wishlist each individual piece, unless you also need to find the materials for it, too.
The final part of the Crafting system isn’t actually crafting, but repairing. Every piece of equipment you have, from your excavator and mech pieces to each weapon has a durability, and they reduce in efficiency as they decrease, breaking beyond use when they reach zero. This is indicated by the green bar next to the item. Make sure to keep them in tip-top shape for a relatively reasonable repair price.
You can also repair your items on the Sortie menu, but this repairs every equipped item rather than letting you choose individually.
Can You Craft Multiple Things At The Same Time?
With crafting taking real time, you don’t really want to waste your time. To that end, it sure would be helpful if you could craft multiple items, wouldn’t it? Thankfully, you can! You can have a maximum of four crafting stations in Synduality. Each of them are acquired from upgrading the Crafting Station in the Production Space.
The second Crafting Station is relatively affordable, and doesn’t take too long to be constructed. The subsequent two Crafting Stations are quite expensive though, so you’ll likely have to make do with just two for a while.
Since crafting does still take quite a while though, it’s important to plan out what you craft. Instead of waiting for one piece to be finished, try craft multiple components at the same time, even if they’re for different items. Idle time is time wasted here.
