The Lantern Rite event of 2025 is called Springtime Charms and it it features four main activities in addition to a massive story quest centered around Hu Tao and Lan Yan. If you’re looking to participate in the event and claim all the rewards, here’s a guide that will finish the event in no time.
Springtime Charms Eligibility
Springtime Charms in Genshin Impact started on January 24, 2024, and will conclude on February 9, 2024. You will need to reach Adventure Rank 20 and also complete Prologue Act 3 Archon Quest Song of Dragon and Freedom to participate in the event. These are mandatory requirements and you must meet them.
You can take part in the event without completing the optional quests. However, there will be interactions and characters that will act as spoilers if you don’t complete the optional quests.
Additionally, you are recommended to complete some optional quests, which include the Archon Quest Incandescent Ode of Resurrection, Baizhu’s Story Quest Lagenaria Act 1: The Heart of Healing, and Hu Tao’s Story Quest Papilio Charontis Act 1: Yet the Butterfly Flutters Away.
Springtime Charms Overview
Lantern Rite 2025 is divided into four major events – Immortal Combat, Drills by Lamplight, Custom Gift Envelope, and Festive Travel Journal. Each of these events feature a different activity, and you’ll need to complete them to claim the rewards.
In addition to receiving the Primogems, your primary objective here is to gather Festive Fever. You’ll receive Festive Fever as you complete the various tasks and once you have met certain requirements, you can claim a free 4-star character.
Additionally, you’ll also receive a free costume for Xiangling as part of the event. Make sure to complete the event within the time limit and claim the costume, as otherwise it will be added to the store, and you’ll have to spend Genesis Crystals to purchase it.
Immortal Combat Guide
Immortal Combat is an interesting event where your primary objective is to match the blocks. The core gameplay is not very different from something like Candy Crush, where once you match multiple blocks of the same color, they will destroy themselves, and you’ll receive a lot of points. However, there’s a lot more to this event.
Before starting the event, you’ll have to select a Rattan and each of them will come with certain buffs. Once you have selected a Rattan, and the event begins, blocks will fall on both your side and the opponent’s side.
You can play this solo as well as in co-op mode. When playing solo, you’ll face NPC characters while in co-op you will face other players.
As more blocks are cleared, your Rattan will attack the opponent one and deal damage to its HP. Additionally, these attacks will also deploy obstacles in the path of the enemy’s blocks, thereby making it difficult to clear them.
Once a certain set of blocks matches, and they are cleared, the blocks above those will fall. When that happens, if the falling blocks also end up matching, then a Chain Clear will be triggered. This will provide Energy to the Rattan while also increasing its ATK power and the potency of any obstacles that may have been deployed.
After one of the sides successfully depletes the HP of the other side, the last one standing is declared the winner. While when in co-op anything can happen, the enemies you face in solo mode are fixed.

Drills By Lamplight
This is a combat event where you have to select a team and then focus on defeating enemies by enhancing your power through Stratagems. The points received will depend on the kind of Stratagems you use, how fast you have defeated the enemies, and the difficulty multiplier of the stage.
During this event, you’ll receive Stratagems of Engagement that will increase the points you gain after defeating opponents. Additionally, you’ll also receive Stratagems of Assault, which will increase the multiplier of the score you receive when defeating opponents.
Finally, you’ll also trigger Strategems of Variation which is fixed before the start of a round, and it multiplies the points that are gained by your party. Once you have defeated a wave of enemies, all the points you gained from defeating the enemies, alongside the multipliers of the Strategems and the difficulty multiplier will be added, and you’ll receive a final score.
You receive trial characters which you can use to complete the various trials.
Stage 1- Fiery Assault
In this stage, you receive the Stratagem of Variation: Pivotal Crux, where defeating two opponents with Elemental Skill will grant your entire party around 250% points for 18 seconds. As such, in this stage, you need to focus on team compositions that can deal heavy damage with Elemental Skill. You also receive Kinich and Emilie as trial characters for this stage.
The best way to go with this stage is not to use your Ultimates at all so that you don’t defeat the enemies accidentally.
The best Strategems to select here are:
- Stratagem of Assault: Night Raid
- Stratagem of Deployment: Bold Advance
- Stratagem of Engagement: Roaring Inferno

Stage 2- General Insights
In this stage you receive the Stratagem of Variation: Unpredictability where triggering three different Elemental Reactions will increase the points gained by 250%. As such, you have to keep triggering Elemental Reactions and selecting compositions that can do so easily will be vital. You also receive Chasca and Xilonen as trial characters in this stage.
You’ll need to ensure that you switch between the characters and trigger the elemental reactions quickly, which means the Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst needs to have low cooldown.
The best Strategems to select here are:
- Stratagem of Engagement: Whirling Vortex
- Strategem of Engagement: Rock Solid
- Strategem of Deployment: Bold Advance
- Strategem of Assault: Sweeping Charge

Stage 3- Slowing Defense
In this stage, you receive the Stratagem of Variation: Slowing Defense, where defeating three frozen characters grants your party 250% points for 15 seconds. The key to this stage is to keep freezing your enemies as fast as possible, which means Hydro and Cryo characters are essential. You also receive, Citlali and Furina as trial units for this stage.
Make sure to freeze as many enemies as possible quickly before finishing them off for the points to trigger. The best Stratagems to select here are:

- Stratagem of Assault: Desperate Impasse

Stage 4- Chain Reaction
In this stage, you receive the Stratagem of Variation: Thunderstrike, where defeating 4 Electro-Charged enemies will increase points gained by 250%. As such, you’ll need to select units that can apply Electro and Hydro fast to trigger the reaction and make sure to defeat enemies while in that state. You also receive Kokomi and Ororon as trial units.

Any character that uses Normal Attacks to deal damage, especially those who can empower themselves with Elemental Infusions works exceptionally well. You receive Mualani and Dehya as the trial characters in this stage.
The key here is to empower Mualani with buffs so that her Normal Attacks deal massive damage while also triggering Vaporize for fast clear. The best Stratagems for this stage are:

You will also receive Mavuika and Lan Yan in addition to the other characters.

Custom Gift Envelope
This one is the simplest of all the events as all you need to do is craft envelopes. These envelopes need to meet certain specifications which will be suggested by your character companions. Once all the specifications are met, the crafting process will be completed.

Festive Travel Journal
In this activity, you’ll have to visit and interact with the various toys that have been placed by the Ministry of Travel Affairs all across Liyue Harbor. These toys include Launch Tubes, Fortune Coins, and Sightseeing Scopes. The locations are marked on the main map of Lantern Rite, and you can also find them marked on the minimap.
The Fortune Coins can be interacted with normally, as you’ll need to simply hit them with Normal Attacks to count towards progression. The Sightseeing Scopes will let you look at faraway locations. Once you look through the Scopes, your progress will be counted.
Finally, Launch Tubes are quite interesting as initially they will have a rotating picture. Hitting them with Normal Attacks will stop the rotation, and it will stop at a picture. If the Launch Tubes stop while showing a particular picture, they will release fireworks.
Launch Tube 1 Location
The first Launch Tube can be found at the top of the large staircase that directly leads to the location where the Lantern Rite shops are situated. It can be found near the Central Plaza.
Launch Tube 2 Location
The second Launch Tube is located right in front of the port and can be reached if you move right from Launch Tube 1. You’ll also notice that there are a couple of ships parked on the water right in front of Launch Tube 2.
Launch Tube 3 Location
Launch Tube 3 is located near the toy shop in Liuye Harbor. If you don’t know where the Toy shop is, it can be found close to the Teleport Waypoint toward the East of Liyue Harbor.
Sightseeing Scope 1 Location
The first Sightseeing Scope is found at the top of the Bell Tower, which is located near the primary staircase that leads to the Lantern Rite shops. it’s close to the Central Plaza in Liyue Harbor.
Sightseeing Scope 2 Location
The second Sightseeing Scope is found on the second floor of the building near Central Plaza where you can find the Tea Shop. You visit this location during the first part of the Lantern Rite story quest.
Sightseeing Scope 3 Location
The final Sightseeing Scope can be found to the East of the Lantern Rite tree, which is located in the middle of the harbor. It’s also very close to Launch Tube 2, if you follow the small bridge on the left and then take a right, you will find Sightseeing Scope 3.
Fortune Coin 1 Location
The first Fortune Coin is located at the foot of the primary set of stairs leading to the Lantern Rite shops in Liuye Harbor.
Fortune Coin 2 Location
The second Fortune Coin is located near the bridge connecting the Southern Liyue Harbor to the central area.
Fortune Coin 3 Location
The third Fortune Coin is located right outside Bubu Pharmacy.
Fortune Coin 4 Location
The fourth Fortune Coin can be found near the main entrance gate to Liyue Harbor.
Fortune Coin 5 Location
The fifth Fortune Coin is located right near the Teleport Waypoint to the North of Liyue Harbor.
Fortune Coin 6 Location
The sixth Fortune Coin can be found in front of the Xinyue Kiosk, which is located near the main set of stairs leading to the Lantern Rite festival.
Fortune Coin 7 Location
The seventh Fortune Coin can be found on the bridge connecting the Central Plaza to Southern Liuye Harbor. You will also find Amber very close to this Fortune Coin.
Fortune Coin 8 Location
The eighth Fortune Coin can be found near the office of the Liyue Qixing under a gazebo.
Fortune Coin 9 Location
The ninth Fortune Coin can be found at the top of the Yanshang Teahouse, located very close to the Southern Teleport Waypoint.
Fortune Coin 10 Location
Fortune Coin 10 is located right near Dongshong’s shop, very close to the Southern Teleport Waypoint in Liyue Harbor.
Fortune Coin 11 Location
Fortune Coin 11 is located at the top of the platform where the woman with the Reputation Rewards for Liyue stands.
Fortune Coin 12 Location
The final Fortune Coin can be found to the southeast of Liyue Harbor, near the entrance to the dockyard.
Springtime Charms Rewards
Lantern Rite 2025 offers a wide range of rewards which include Primogems, a costume for Xiangling, and a free 4-star unit. The list of standard awards that you will receive as part of Lantern Rite 2025 is as follows:
