Players will escape the Prison Yard and encounter Yarnby and Doey, before making their way to the Save Haven in Poppy Playtime Chapter 4. However, there’s a hurdle in the way that needs to be solved in order to reach the Safe Haven and meet Poppy and Kissy Missy. Doey tells the players that the generator is in a pretty bad state, which is why it’s kept off. However, to open the door downstairs, he’ll turn it on, so players can put the cogwheels in the door mechanism to open it.

How to Solve the Generator Cogwheels Puzzle in Poppy Playtime Chapter 4
As players drop into the dark corridor, they’ll come across an empty battery panel. Doey will stretch its hand down to the players, holding a battery to help activate the power and activate the door cogwheel mechanism. Turn back and enter the first doorway to your left to spot the cogwheel mechanism for the door. The mechanism is missing three cogwheels that you’ll need to find in order to open the door to the next area in Poppy Playtime Chapter 4.
Here’s how to do it.
Finding Three Cogwheels
The first cogwheel can be found by turning right from the mechanism and heading into the maze-like structure of the chain-linked fences. The cogwheel is sitting on a workbench.
For the second and third cogwheels, you’ll need to exit the area and head back into the hallway to enter another section of the structure. Here, you’ll see a stack of boxes on the left side. Pull those boxes away to find the bigger cogwheel.
To get the last cogwheel, you’ll need to take a U-turn and turn left to spot a cogwheel (with a silver rim) under a shelf. Now you’ve got all three cogwheels.
Inserting Cogwheels into the Door Mechanism
Once you have all three cogwheels, head back to the mechanism, and now you’ll need to insert them into the larger mechanism. The first smaller cogwheel goes to the space on the right. The third cogwheel with a silver rim will go in the middle and the largest cogwheel will go into the left slot.
After placing all the cogwheels in the mechanism correctly, the shutter door will open, allowing players to progress to the next area in Poppy Playtime Chapter 4.
