The PPSh-41 has returned to Warzone with Season 2, and with the right attachments, it’s capable of dominating close-range encounters.

The Warzone SMG meta has been unchanged for a while now, with the Jackal PDW cementing its place at the top. However, its superiority might be under threat as the WW2-era PPSh-41 SMG offers a similarly impressive TTK, especially at close distances.

To get the most out of this classic weapon, you’ll need to pair it with all the meta attachments. With this in mind, here’s the best PPSh-41 loadout for Warzone.

PPSh-41 loadout attachments

  • Muzzle: Compensator
  • Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
  • Underbarrel: Vertical Foregrip
  • Magazine: Extended Mag II
  • Fire Mods: Recoil Springs

Our PPSh-41 build is focused on improving the SMG’s recoil and boosting its damage range. The Compensator attachment paired with the Vertical Foregrip helps with the former by reducing both the horizontal and vertical recoil.

To improve the effective damage range and bullet velocity, we’ve opted for the Reinforced Barrel. This makes the SMG more reliable for mid-range engagements. The recoil gain from the barrel can be offset using the Recoil Springs mod, which tightens the spread and makes the PPSh-41 more accurate.

Lastly, using the Extended Magazine II is a must since the gun chews through ammo at a rapid pace. This attachment will upgrade the magazine capacity to 55 rounds so you’ll be able to take out multiple enemies without needing to reload.

Perks, Equipment, and Wildcard for PPSh-41 loadout

  • Perk 1: Scavenger
  • Perk 2: Quartermaster
  • Perk 3: Alertness
  • Wildcard: Overkill
  • Lethal: Semtex
  • Tactical: Smoke Grenade
PPSh-41 class in Warzone

Due to the PPSh-41’s blistering fire rate, you’re bound to run dry on ammo. The Scavenger Perk ensures that you’re always ready for a fight by replenishing your ammo using the reserves of eliminated enemies. Quartermaster has a similar effect as it resupplies your equipment passively. For the final slot, Alterness is a solid pick as it immediately lets you know if you’re being aimed at by an enemy.

Given the SMG’s wild recoil and lack of versatility, it’s best to pair it with a well-balanced Assault Rifle like the XM4. For this reason, we recommend using the Overkill Wildcard.

Both Frags and Semtex are great options for Lethal equipment so feel free to pick between the two. As for the Tactical, nothing beats the strategic value of Smoke Grenades as they help mask your movement. Their importance only increases as the circle gets smaller.

PPSh-41 pros and cons

Where is the PPSh-41 in the Warzone meta?

Thanks to its impressive TTK and incredible fire rate, the PPSh-41 is one of the best SMG’s Warzone has to offer. It can comfortably hold its own against the Jackal PDW or the KSV at close ranges, with its steady hipfire providing an added edge.

That said, the fast fire rate means that you’ll be running out of ammo constantly and might have to reload during tense combat encounters. Its recoil also leaves more to be desired and taming it at longer distances is a tall order. While the weapon stands out in the close-range meta, there are more balanced and reliable SMG options to pick from.

How to unlock the PPSh-41

The PPSh-41 can be unlocked by completing Page 6 of the Season 2 Battle Pass. You’ll need to grind for XP to get your hands on it but it is completely free to unlock.

Best PPSh-41 alternatives

If you’re looking for a fast-firing SMG, the Saug is a respectable alternative offering more control over the PPSh-41. For the meta weapon in this class, look no further than the Jackal PDW.
